Each copy of the King Spawn #1 limited quantity Signed 1:250 Retailer Incentive variant will be bagged and boarded and individually signed and numbered by McFarlane. Todd will be flying out to the Diamond headquarters in Baltimore prior to the release to the book and will personally select the best-of-the-best condition comic for each customer to be signed.

Image will be shipping these variants as close to the release date of the regular King Spawn book as possible and will be packing them with additional care that they arrive at stores without damage. Because Image cannot guarantee that shipping damages will not occur in transit, there will be an opportunity for retailers to submit photo evidence of significantly damaged copies to their Diamond Customer Service representative at which point, Todd McFarlane will make every attempt to make sure that every retailer is satisfied with their book. Note that Image does not guarantee any specific condition or minimum grade on the comics received. Damaged copies will also need to be sent back in order to qualify for a replacement.

Todd McFarlane's King Spawn #1 Signed 1:250 Retailer Incentive variant will be the lowest print run ever released by Todd McFarlane Productions. Additionally, each book will be hand-signed by legendary Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and each book will have its own unique number on it. This is the only time McFarlane will sign the King Spawn #1 McFarlane retailer incentive issue. This incentive cover is exclusively offered to retailers that order 250 copies of King Spawn #1.

The release of King Spawn #1 is nearly three decades in the making and marks the first time a #1 Spawn issue has been available, in monthly form, in over 28 years. Issue #1 is a massive 56 pages thick with stunning art and action-packed storytelling.

The King Spawn #1 continues the dramatic events from the recent blockbuster Spawn's Universe #1 comic book. King Spawn is projected to have even higher sales than the record-setting Spawn's Universe #1.

King Spawn #1 McFarlane signature and unique numbering will vary in placement on the actual books from the example revealed. The exact print run number will be available after FOC on Monday, August 2.

ABOUT SPAWN, LEGENDARY ARTISTS AND SPAWN CREATOR AND IMAGE COMICS PRESIDENT, TODD MCFARLANE
Todd McFarlane's Spawn is one of the world's best-selling and longest-running monthly comic books, with several hundred million copies sold worldwide in more than 120 countries. In addition, Spawn's Universe #1 is Image Comics' top-selling first issue of the 21st century.

McFarlane's Spawn made history with the release of the historic Spawn #300, and Spawn #301 has earned the Guinness World Records title for the longest-running creator-owned superhero comic book series in the world. The road to McFarlane's history-making comic run began in 1992 when he co-founded Image Comics and the released Spawn #1, still the single-best-selling issue all-time for any creator-owned comic.

The comic became an Emmy Award-winning animated series on HBO and a live-action feature film that grossed $100 million. In addition, McFarlane became a true comic book superstar for his record-setting work on Marvel Comics' Spider-Man franchise, where he co-created Marvel's top villain Venom.

After garnishing prominent success in the comic industry, McFarlane founded the international award-winning McFarlane Toys, one of America's top action figure manufacturers. In 2020, the new release of a Spawn figure on Kickstarter set a new Kickstarter record, in its category, for raising just under $3.5 million in 30 days.

BOOM! Studios Announces DUNE: A WHISPER OF CALADAN SEAS #1

7/24/2021

Discover a Brand New Special From the Authors of the Official Prequel to
Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune’ in December 2021

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 24, 2021) –  BOOM! Studios today proudly announced DUNE: A WHISPER OF CALADAN SEAS #1, a brand new comic book special issue expanding the rich mythology of Frank Herbert’s Dune, adapted & scripted by New York Times bestselling authors Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, illustrated by artist Jakub Rebelka (Origins) and lettered by Ed Dukeshire, in partnership with Herbert Properties LLC and in full coordination with Abrams ComicArts, who published the first of a trilogy of graphic novel adaptations of Herbert’s original classic novel DUNE in Fall 2020.

During the chaos of the legendary Battle of Arrakeen, a group of Atreides soldiers gets caved in. So while Paul Atreides meets his destiny in battle, Sgt. Vitt must use his family’s gift of storytelling as a Jongleur to transport his men from their tomb to their homeworld of Caladan. Can Vitt mentally transport them back to the lushness and vast oceans of Caladan and give them the gift of hope in the darkness?

“When we were writing A WHISPER OF CALADAN SEAS, we had no idea that our Dune-series novels and short stories would eventually add up to millions of words,” said Brian Herbert. “Now we're still adding on to that total, and continue to enjoy the writing process as much as we did when we were just getting going.  Our enthusiasm for these stories has never waned.”

“A WHISPER OF CALADAN SEAS was the very first piece of Dune fiction Brian and I wrote together, a short story introduction as we got our legs under us for writing House Atreides,” said Kevin J. Anderson. “It certainly launched something great for both of us.”

Created by visionary writer Frank Herbert, Dune debuted in 1965, has sold millions of copies and is arguably the most admired science fiction novel of all time. After winning the Hugo Award and inaugural Nebula Award, Dune inspired a best-selling novel series and led to multiple live-action adaptations, including the upcoming feature film from Legendary Pictures. The influence of Dune extends well beyond the world of entertainment, with an incalculable influence on modern scientific thinking about politics, religion, outer space, environmentalism, and more.

DUNE: A WHISPER OF CALADAN SEAS #1 features main cover art by Jeff Dekal (BRZRKR) and variant covers by artists Rebelka, Elizabeth Torque (Venom), and Christian Ward (Something is Killing the Children).

“The origins of Brian and Kevin’s incredible worldbuilding within the Dune universe starts here with an insightful and touching story that shows a side of this epic sci-fi classic that has never been seen before,” said Jonathan Manning, Editor, BOOM! Studios.

DUNE: A WHISPER OF CALADAN SEAS is the newest release from BOOM! Studios’ eponymous imprint, home to critically acclaimed original series, including BRZRKR by Keanu Reeves, Matt Kindt, and Ron Garney; We Only Find Them When They’re Dead by Al Ewing and Simone Di Meo; Seven Secrets by Tom Taylor and Daniele Di Nicuolo; Something is Killing the Children by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera; Once & Future by Kieron Gillen and Dan Mora; The Many Deaths of Laila Starr by Ram V and Filipe Andrade; Proctor Valley Road by Grant Morrison, Alex Child, and Naomi Franquiz; and Eve by Victor LaValle and Jo Mi-Gyeong. The imprint also publishes popular licensed properties including Mighty Morphin and Power Rangers from Ryan Parrott, Marco Renna, and Francesco Mortarino; and Magic from Jed MacKay and Ig Guara.

Print copies of DUNE: A WHISPER OF CALADAN SEAS #1 will be available in December 2021 at local comic book shops (use comicshoplocator.com to find the nearest one), or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers like comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and Kindle.

Thunderfuck 5000, Yvie Oddly, ‘American Horror Story’ Director Axelle Carolyn,
    Steve Foxe and Isaac Goodhart

  • Los Angeles, CA (July 2021) — Hello Uglies. Heavy Metal Entertainment is thrilled to
announce that The Boulet Brothers, the legendary horror hosts, producers, drag icons, and
creators of reality competition TV series The Boulet Brothers' Dragula, will be taking over this
year’s Halloween issue of Heavy Metal Magazine.
Picture
Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet host this spooky spectacular issue, guiding readers into dark
and demented worlds with their own scary stories as well as horror tales created by Steve
Orlando (Wonder Woman, Starward) and pro wrestler Danhausen; RuPaul’s Drag Race stars
Katya Zamolodchikova, Alaska Thunderfuck 5000, Yvie Oddly; American Horror Story director
Axelle Carolyn; Steve Foxe (Razorblades, Party & Prey) and artist Isaac Goodhart (Catwoman,
Postal). The gorgeous and glamorous cover is created by artist Dan Quintana (Batman,
Something is Killing the Children covers).

  • “Taking over Heavy Metal Magazine for Halloween is one of the things we are most excited
about this coming season. Heavy Metal Magazine is iconic and it’s an honour to appear on the
cover and to actually be able to write a few comics of our own for the issue. A lot of people
aren’t aware of this but we actually got our start in the comic book industry, so being able to
connect the place where we started in comics to where we are working now in horror, drag and
television is a full circle moment and we couldn’t be more thrilled,” said Dracmorda Boulet.
Added Swanthula Boulet: “We were also really excited to be able to work with our friend Steve
Orlando on this who we feel is one of the most driven comic book writers working today. Steve
worked with us and some of our friends from the drag and horror space to also develop their
own stories for the issue, so you’re going to see original comics from Katya, Alaska, Yvie Oddly
and (American Horror Story director) Axelle Carolyn as well. They all did a great job and we
can’t wait for audiences to see the finished product.”

  • “The Boulet Brothers and Heavy Metal—what an incredible pairing to help bring together for this
Halloween!” remarked Steve Orlando. “Here we've got a meeting of icons known for subversion,
pushing the envelope, questioning the expected and unquestionably pushing creativity forward.
Whether it's comics, prose, drag, horror, filth, or glamour, these icons are more than
trendsetters—they're trendbusters, trendbreakers. So am I excited to be part of this first of its

  • kind Halloween Takeover? Hell yes! There's an awesome Halloween artefact coming your way
from all involved, including first-ever comics work from pro wrestler and blimp-enthusiast
Danhausen and co-creator of the blazing new hit horror comics anthology Razorblades, Steve
    Foxe!”

  • Heavy Metal CEO Matthew Medney said: "Heavy Metal is always about pushing the envelope,
pushing the narrative, and creating conversation in the pop culture zeitgeist. Teaming up with
The Boulet Brothers helps to move forward our narrative of inclusion, freedom of choice, and
being your most beautiful self. We cannot wait to share this issue dreamed up by the crazy
glamorous, disgustingly outrageous minds of Swanthula and Dracmorda Boulet, and many
incredibly talented nightmarish creators, in this audacious tale told through the Heavy Metal
    lens.”

  • The Boulet Brothers Halloween Takeover issue of Heavy Metal Magazine (issue #311) will be
available on October 27th in comic shops, bookstores, and online on Comixology, GlobalComix,
and at heavymetal.com, and will be available for pre-order. The special issue is priced at

“Our Baldur's Gate heroes have traveled to remote parts of the Realms, tumbled through the Demiplane of Dread, been exiled to Hell, and somehow made it back alive,” says Zub. “Now they're home in Baldur's Gate and the threat that's arrived on their doorstep is far greater than any of them could have imagined.”

Mindbreaker builds upon IDW’s expansive library of Dungeons & Dragons tales written by Zub, a sixth entry in a Baldur’s Gate saga that includes prior publications Legends of Baldur’s Gate, Shadows of the Vampire, Frost Giant’s Fury, Evil at Baldur’s Gate, and Infernal Tides.

“Getting to write new Dungeons & Dragons stories with Minsc and company alongside the incredible surge in the tabletop game's popularity has been an honor and a thrill,” says Zub. “Mindbreaker is D&D on a grand scale, jam-packed with action and adventure. It pays off a bunch of elements introduced in earlier D&D miniseries and foreshadows the dark forces that rise to prominence in Baldur’s Gate III. I can't wait for readers to see how it all plays out!”

“Jim’s wisdom and charisma, combined with Eduardo’s dexterity, have crafted a powerfully emotional adventure that never skimps on action or humor. We’re so excited to collaborate with our colleagues at Wizards of the Coast on a series so closely tied to the franchise’s status quo and that, in the mind flayers, showcases the D&D villain that has most captured the popular imagination in recent years,” says series co-editor Zac Boone.

Dungeons & Dragons: Mindbreaker #1 will be available with multiple cover variants for retailers and fans to enjoy, including Cover A by Max Dunbar (artist of Legends of Baldur’s Gate and Infernal Tides), Cover B by Max Davenport, and a Retailer Incentive edition featuring art by Celia Lowenthal.

July 22, 2021– New York, NY – The Eisner award-winning creative team that brought you AFTERLIFT—writer Chip Zdarsky, artist Jason Loo, colorist Paris Alleyne, letterer Aditya Bidikar, and editor Alison O’Toole—are reuniting for an all-new comic book about vampires who sometimes moonlight as superheroes. The comiXology Originals series The All-Nighter arrives digitally in 2022 and will also be in print from Dark Horse Books. The All-Nighter is currently in development as an original series for Amazon Studios with executive producer Jordan Feiner.

“Working on AFTERLIFT was an amazing experience, especially getting to see the beautiful pages coming in from Jason, Paris and Aditya!" said Zdarsky. “I knew I wanted to work with them again immediately, and I’m super grateful that we have the chance with The All-Nighter! It’s a ton of fun and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do!”

Welcome to The All-Nighter, the only diner in town where you can get coffee and a meal from sunset to sunrise! The staff are friendly (kind of) and happy to serve you (sometimes), and it would never cross their minds to drink their customers’ blood. . . .

Alex is bored—flipping burgers for strangers all night is no way for a vampire to live. But he and his fellow vampires Joy, Cynthia, and Ian have agreed to blend into human society. Inspired by superhero movies, one of the few passions in his un-life, Alex decides to don a cape and start fighting bad guys. But his decision will have bigger consequences than he realizes—for himself and for everyone he wants to protect.

"I'm really excited to be part of a series that offers a unique and really fun take on the superhero genre,” says Loo. “Every issue has a surprise that will get readers hooked and wondering: 'who's gonna show up next?!'"

“The All-Nighter is a story about the importance of found family and the dangers of pretending to be someone other than who you are,'' said Chip Mosher, Head of Content of comiXology. “Chip Zdarsky and Jason Loo have brought their A game to their fun and fast-paced take on superheroes. It’s a terrific follow up to their Eisner Award-winning AFTERLIFT and I'm thrilled to see the story showcased in digital and print.”
