THE SERIES THAT STARTED A PHENOMENON RETURNS WITH THE RELEASE OF CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA #9 THIS OCTOBER
Series Writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa And Artist Robert Hack Return To The Best-Selling Comic Book Series, Hitting Stands October 13 From Archie Comics

Aguirre-Sacasa Also To Continue The Events of the Acclaimed Netflix Adaptation With New Series THE OCCULT WORLD OF SABRINA, Launching Later This Year

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #9 main cover by Robert Hack
Archie Comics is celebrating 60 years of Sabrina Spellman with two comic book series, both written by “Riverdale” television series creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and featuring the fan-favorite teen witch. Arriving October 13, Aguirre-Sacasa will reunite with original series artist Robert Hack to continue the best-selling comic book series that started it all with CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA #9. Returning to the series’ satanic horror roots, Aguirre-Sacasa continues the terrifying “Witch War” storyline, pitting Spellman against Spellman, the dead versus the living.

“Bringing Sabrina and her family and friends to life on the screen for Netflix was a dark dream come true, and I couldn’t be prouder of our four seasons, but it all started with a comic book series that was truly a labor of love for everyone who worked on it,” said Aguirre-Sacasa. “Reuniting with Robert Hack and the entire Archie Comics team and getting to pick up where we left off has been the best homecoming I could have ever asked for.”

Aguirre-Sacasa will also open the doorway to hell with another new comic book series that picks up where the final episode of Netflix’s hugely popular television adaptation left off. Launching later this year, THE OCCULT WORLD OF SABRINA features art by Audrey Mok (ARCHIE, JOSIE & THE PUSSYCATS) and will include characters and storylines from the “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'' television series, on which Aguirre-Sacasa served as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Fans of both the comics and the television series will be on the edge of their seats as they welcome back Sabrina, Nick, Harvey, and the rest of the Fright Club for the first story-arc, “A World Without Sabrina.”

“Roberto coming back to the comics fold is such a special thing to experience,” said Archie Comics CEO/Publisher Jon Goldwater. “He’s done a remarkable job of creating fresh, new and captivating stories across ‘Riverdale,’ ‘Sabrina,’ and ‘Katy Keene.’ He steps right back into his comics sweet spot, and the world he has created is truly amazing.”

Andy Xenon is the Comeback Kid Pop Culture has been waiting for

Remember Andy Xenon is Live On Zoop
(California, July 19th, 2021) The concept behind the now-live Zoop crowdfunding campaign is simple. Andy was a boy adventurer… until he abruptly lost his powers and had to grow up real fast. Now, he wants an answer – what went wrong? Remember Andy Xenon is a 48-page graphic novel that explores, from a very human and relatable perspective, how even superheroes can question their relevance in the world. Writer Tom Pinchuk (Ben 10, Max Steel) and artist Niko Koutsis (Stretch Armstrong) have been creating big kid hero stories for years. Together, they asked the question: why do our childhood heroes have to stay children? The creators believe there is no end-date to develop such heroes further – and it’s time for the next chapter to be written. The list of guest artists involved with this project is extensive, including Freddie E. Williams II (Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, He-Man/Thundercats) and Brent Schoonover (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman)! The campaign is live and you can grab your digital and print rewards now at https://zoop.gg/c/rememberandyxenon.

About Remember Andy Xenon:
Awesome powers? Adventures all over the world?! Andy Xenon was the boy hero every kid wished they could be! But then he turned 18 and those powers suddenly vanished. No more adventures. What happened? Why? Never getting any explanations, Andy resigned to life as a normal guy… and it’s a quiet misery. Nobody believes he used to be Andy Xenon. People have moved on to new adventurers and, each year, fewer even remember Andy, at all...
But one person hasn’t forgotten. A journalist has tracked Andy down for a soul-searching interview. At last, he can set the record straight, review his reckless youth with hard-earned wisdom… and maybe figure out what went wrong. Is it too late for answers? Or can Andy earn a second chance? With backers’ pledges, Tom and Nikos can share Remember Andy Xenon with the world and take readers on one off-beat journey of redemption. Sometimes, the end of a story is only just the beginning!

What others are saying about Remember Andy Xenon...
"Beautiful and human post-deconstructionist superheroes in the mode of Astro City."
— KIERON GILLEN (Star Wars, Eternals, the Wicked + the Divine)
“Tom Pinchuk’s Remember Andy Xenon? is a cosmic romp with a sharp sense of humor and a great group of characters, all brought to energetic visual life by Nikos Koutsis.”
— J.M. DeMatteis (Justice League International, Kraven's Last Hunt, Moonshadow)
“This fun-house mirror tale of a superhero and his origin story blasts onto the scene with full-throttle action, sly humor, and genuine heart. Remember Andy Xenon? is unforgettable.”
— JULIA LEWALD (X-Men: The Animated Series, Transformers: Robot in Disguise)

In the Creators’ Words:
For the creators, making this comic has been about reconnecting with inspirations. Pinchuk explains, “Nikos and I reflected on comics that’d truly inspired us, like Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? and the Death of Captain Marvel. Many weren’t sprawling epics. They were self-contained one-shots – these really poignant, bittersweet character studies. We had to capture such poetic and uplifting focus here. Zoop allows us to craft our story in the exact format it needs to be in.
“As we charted Andy’s misadventures, we found plenty of poignant analogies – between characters and their fans, between heroes and everyday people,” Pinchuk says. “Whoever you are, growing up is all about navigating life’s ups and downs. Who doesn't deserve a second shot?”

Creator Bios:
Tom Pinchuk – Writer/Creator: A man of duality, Tom has charted the adventures of world-famous kid heroes like Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 and Mattel’s Max Steel while also crafting mature audience comics for Heavy Metal Magazine, among others. He swears Remember Andy Xenon will reconcile these contradictions, at last. Tom has written for television, comics, and everything in-between and, before moving to Los Angeles, dwelled everywhere from Singapore to Syracuse. He delights in obstacle races, escape rooms, recounting his “breathtaking” loss to a future UFC fighter at a Jiu-Jitsu tournament, and in masterminding increasingly elaborate, diabolical April Fools Day pranks.

Nikos Koutsis – Illustrator/Creator: Located in Athens, Greece, Nikos is the co-creator of Errand Boys (Image), and artist on Erik Larsen’s Mighty Man (Image) and Hasbro's Stretch Armstrong (IDW). He’s been the colorist on Savage Dragon since 2008 and colored more than 3,500 pages for Image and IDW so far, claiming that the night is still young! It's really a mystery how he manages to have a life as a family man, teach as a Sequential Arts Professor at Vakalo College of Art and Design, or maintain a good shape for himself! (Or at least this is what he thinks he’s doing)

Legendary Comics Announces New Anime Companion Graphic Novel Pacific Rim: Blackout, Revealing the Cover, and a New Pacific Rim: Ultimate Omnibus Collection

Now available for pre-order exclusively on Kickstarter, the graphic novel tells an all-new adventure featuring fan favorite Herc Hansen in a prequel story based on the hit Netflix Original Anime Series “Pacific Rim: The Black” and the Omnibus Collection brings four past stories together in one volume for the first time

LOS ANGELES, July 19, 2021 – Legendary Comics announced today a new companion graphic novel Pacific Rim: Blackout and a new collection Pacific Rim: Ultimate Omnibus, both further expanding the epic mythology based on Legendary Entertainment and Guillermo del Toro’s blockbuster film franchise. Partnering with Rocketship Entertainment, Legendary Comics will also create limited editions of each book along with exclusive merchandise available only through Kickstarter. Readers can now pre-order at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/legendarycomics/pacific-rim-ultimate-omnibus/ with the limited-edition books becoming available simultaneously with the book market editions in January 2022.

From writer Cavan Scott (Star Wars: The High Republic and Shadow Service) and artist Nelson Dániel (Detective Pikachu, TMNT, Clue), Pacific Rim: Blackout allows readers to revisit the world of Netflix’s Original Anime Series Pacific Rim: The Black in an all-new prequel adventure featuring fan favorite character Herc Hansen. The PPDC Ranger returns as a world-weary jaeger pilot dragged into battle as an influx of kaiju threatens to destroy the Australian continent and all its inhabitants. Along with his niece Olivia, his copilot Cooper, and Marshal Rask, Herc faces brand-new kaiju of epic proportions while battling his own inner demons.

For the first time ever, the Pacific Rim: Ultimate Omnibus brings together New York Times best-selling Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero (presented by Guillermo Del Toro and written by Pacific Rim screenwriter Travis Beacham) alongside the sequels Pacific Rim: Tales from the Drift (written by Joshua Fialkov), Pacific Rim: Aftermath, Pacific Rim: Amara (both from Cavan Scott), and Pacific Rim: Blackout in a deluxe omnibus collection.

“The Pacific Rim universe is so rich with opportunities to tell all-new captivating stories, and we are thrilled to bring a new prequel adventure based on the popular Netflix anime series to fans,” said Robert Napton, Senior Vice President of Legendary Comics. “Showrunners Greg Johnson and Craig Kyle created such a strikingly beautiful and hauntingly dangerous story featured in the anime series, and I couldn’t think of a better creative team than Cavan and Nelson to capture this vivid storytelling and visual style to bring to the page. We are also thrilled to offer fans of the franchise a new collection that allows them to revisit past adventures.”

“Working with Cavan and Nelson to bring this Pacific Rim story to life has been so much fun,” said Nikita Kannekanti, Senior Editor of Legendary Comics. “Cavan does such a great job balancing the action with the emotional character moments, and Nelson's art is so full of energy in every single panel. I hope fans enjoy Herc's story and learning more about what happened before the Black!”

Cavan Scott remarks, "It has been an absolute joy to return to the world of Pacific Rim for this original graphic novel and to also provide a link between the original movie and the fantastic anime series. Herc’s story really resonates with me; a man who has seen the world change and his friends fall away as the monsters keep on coming. But he never gives in, never lets events he cannot control defeat him. The monsters we see Herc facing in his personal life are just as destructive as the kaiju that are razing cities across Australia. As always, Pacific Rim is just as much a story about people caught in extraordinary times as it is a spectacle of monsters vs. mechs. That’s not to say that Blackout doesn’t feature killer kaiju fight scenes. Nelson has done an incredible job balancing cataclysmic events with heartfelt personal moments. I hope Pacific Rim fans young and old enjoy these final moments before Australia becomes the Black.”

“The Pacific Rim universe was something I wanted to draw, the Jaegers and Kaijus and the whole game of proportions is something I really enjoyed doing,” said Nelson Dániel. “I don't know how many buildings I draw and how many destroyed, but they are never enough when it comes to epic battles. I hope the fans enjoy it as much as I do when I’m drawing it.”
About the Pacific Rim: Blackout creators:
Cavan Scott is a New York Times bestseller who has written for such popular worlds as Star Wars, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Assassin’s Creed, Judge Dredd, Sherlock Holmes and, of course, Pacific Rim. He is the author of Pacific Rim: Aftermath, Star Wars Dooku: Jedi Lost, The Patchwork Devil, Shadow Service and is one of the story architects for Lucasfilm’s epic multi-media initiative, Star Wars: The High Republic. He has written comics for Marvel, DC Comics, IDW, Dark Horse, Vertigo, 2000 AD, and The Beano.  A former magazine editor, Cavan Scott lives in Bristol with his wife and daughters. His lifelong passions include scary movies, folklore, the music of David Bowie, and LEGO.  He owns far too many action figures.

Nelson Dániel has worked for over 15 years in films and commercials as an art director, production designer, storyboard and concepts artist for films like Aftershock and Eli Roth’s Green Inferno, Robert Rodriguez’s Machete, among others. Nelson lives in Chile, where he has published his graphic novels Lucca, 1899 and 1959. He also did all art and colors on The Cape: 1969, monthly series Judge Dredd, Dungeons and Dragons, Clue, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Stephen King/Joe Hill collaboration, Road Rage, in addition to the single issues and covers of Ghostbusters, G.I. Joe, Transformers and more. He has also worked with Legendary Comics on the Detective Pikachu graphic novel. He has also worked as colorist for Marvel and IDW on series such as The Cape, Wild Blue Yonder, The Island of Dr. Moreau and the 2015 Eisner Award-winning best limited series, Little Nemo: Return to Slumberland, where he was also nominated for best colorist.

IMAGE COMICS TO RELEASE ED BRUBAKER & MARCOS MARTÍN’S EISNER AWARD NOMINATED FRIDAY IN PRINT FOR THE FIRST TIME

7/16/2021

Picture
PORTLAND, Ore. 07/16/2021 — Image Comics will publish the Eisner Award nominated Panel Syndicate comic--Friday—by the award winning creative team, Ed Brubaker (Pulp, Reckless, Criminal) and Marcos Martín (The Private Eye, Daredevil) in print for the first time. Friday, Book One: The First Day of Christmas will collect the first arc of the series and hit shelves this November.

"I'm so excited to finally see Friday in print. This is one of my career-favorite projects, and every chapter that Marcos draws ups his game to an unbelievable level," said Brubaker. "I've never really done anything like this book before, a post-YA coming of age story with that beautiful mid-70s era look, and watching Marcos and Muntsa bring the town of Kings Hill to life has been astonishing. I can't wait for a whole new audience to discover Friday Fitzhugh and her terrible Christmas."

Friday follows a young adult sidekick trying to find her own place in a world that's one part Encyclopedia Brown and one part HP Lovecraft.

Martín added: "Friday Fitzhugh and Lancelot Jones thought they were enjoying their adventures as YA detectives in a nice New England town but of course, they didn’t know their lives were in the hands of master crime storyteller, Ed Brubaker. That’s real unfortunate for them as anyone familiar with Ed’s expert hand in setting up dark, troubling situations wrapped in sad, melancholic atmospheres knows. But their loss is our gain and I hope the readers will have as much of a blast getting to know these characters as I’ve had drawing them. Or if nothing else, just flip through the pages to enjoy Muntsa’s beautiful color work.”

Friday Fitzhugh spent her childhood solving crimes and digging up occult secrets with her best friend Lancelot Jones, the smartest boy in the world. But that was the past. Now she’s in college, starting a new life on her own—or so she thought. When Friday comes home for the holidays, she’s immediately pulled back into Lance’s orbit and finds that something very strange and dangerous is happening in their little New England town… Everything quickly snowballs into the Christmas vacation from Hell—and they may not survive to see the New Year.

"For me, Friday was one of the highlights of an obviously turbulent 2020," said Eric Stephenson, Chief Creative Officer & Publisher at Image Comics. "After enjoying Friday as a reader via Panel Syndicate, I’m thrilled to be in a position to publish Ed and Marcos’s masterwork here at Image. Comics don’t get much better than this."

Friday, Book One: The First Day of Christmas trade paperback (ISBN: 978-1534320581, Diamond Code: AUG210009) will be available on Wednesday, November 3 and in bookstores on Tuesday, November 9. It can be pre-ordered at your local comic book shop or independent bookstore via Bookshop or IndieBound, or it can be pre-ordered on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, and Indigo. Friday remains available in digital format at Panel Syndicate.

Experience the unique audio-visual landscape of Superstate with first story ‘Yoga Town’ here.

Superstate sees Graham Coxon working with co-writers Alex Paknadel (GIGA, Friendo, Turncoat) and Helen Mullane (Nicnevin and the Bloody Queen) and 15 graphic artists including Christian Dibari, Marie Llovet and Ryan Kelly as well as musicians Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne, Sharlene Hector, Valentina Pappalardo and Vula to realize this reading and listening experience unlike any other. Coxon’s vision is brought to the page by an all-star co-operative of writers and artists who devised stories and visuals inspired by the original concept from Coxon. The creative process has been led by new music written and recorded by Coxon exclusively for Superstate. The result is a visual compendium that features 15 different graphic stories, each accompanied by its own individual soundtrack.

According to Coxon, Superstate is about a dystopian world where angels and villains alike promise the people paradise, disenchanted children live feral in vast rubbish dumps and the masses are pacified by a drugged out, government-mandated digital dreamscapes and robot partners while they wait to perish on this dying planet. It seems all hope is gone but there might be one place in the universe where the most desperate can escape… heaven.

Josh Frankel, CEO, Z2 Comics said - “The reason I got into comics was first and foremost to create innovative, amazing art. Superstate is just that, a true fusion of comics and music. It’s rare where we have a project where the art and music are so linked. Superstate is a true hybrid with each song and story intertwining to reveal glimpses of a larger truth.  The fact that it comes from Graham Coxon makes it that much more special: as an odd duck American who is a massive fan of his, it was a true treat to get to work with Graham to help make his vision come to life in the truly transcendent Superstate.”

Superstate is written by Graham Coxon, Alex Paknadel and Helen Mullane.

$3 MILLION COLLECTION!

Pokémon Collection Amassed by the late Bart Kiser offered in Heritage Auctions’ Inaugural Trading Card Games Auction July 24-25

How One Man’s Love Affair With Pokémon Made This Father the World's Most ‘Rad Dad’

Pokémon cards are joining sports cards as hot commodity, there’s a collection worth $3 million going on the Heritage Auctions block (see the notes below followed by a full press release)

Sports trading cards aren’t the only memorabilia skyrocketing in value. Heritage Auctions will put a Pokémon card collection, valued at an estimated $3 million, on the auction block July 24-25.  This is potentially the largest sale of a non-sports card lot in US history.

Bart Kiser had a love affair with Pokémon which was almost as big as the love he had for his children, earning him the nickname “Rad Dad.” So much so, that he gifted his massive collection to his children on Christmas morning 1999. Some 20 years later that collection will be up for grabs, expected to attract spirited bidding.

Kiser passed in 2018 but the colorful cards depicting “pocket monsters” will remind his now adult children again of his Pokémon passion and generosity.

His son Matt Kiser and Joe Maddalena, Executive VP at Heritage Auctions, are available to the media on mutually convenient times and dates to discuss the Bart Kiser Collection.

Highlights from the Rad Dad Collection offered at auction includes sealed box sets such as a Pokémon Japanese Base Set Sealed Booster Box (Media Factory, 1996) released only in Japan (est. $40,000). These boxes were released in Japan on Oct. 20, 1996, which was a little over two years before the English version. English versions of these boxes came with 36 card packs but Japanese versions came with 60 packs.

A Pokémon Unlimited Edition Base Set Booster Box (Wizards of the Coast) remains sealed since 1999, the year the set was released (est. $20,000). It includes 36 booster packs, each with 11 cards, for a total of 396 cards. The cards have never been touched and they are all likely gem mint condition.

Bart Kiser obtained a rare Pokémon First Edition Jungle Set Sealed Booster Box (Wizards of the Coast, 1999) (est. $15,000). This was the second set of the mega-popular Pokémon Trading Card Game, released on June 16, 1999. The set included a total of 64 cards and it was the first set to include copies of the holographic cards in non-holographic form.

------------------------------------------

DALLAS, Texas (July 13, 2021) – Pokémon was bigger than a game for “Rad Dad” Bart Kiser. It was as big as the love he had for his children.

Kiser gifted a portion of his massive card game collection to his children Christmas morning 1999. “Some of us were a little too young to know what was going on,” says son Matt Kiser, watching home video of that holiday morning. “But we see our family …  We see, especially our dad who loved us and was doing everything he can to share in that passion with us kids.”

Bart Kiser passed away in 2018, but the gift he left his children that Christmas morning is creating a lasting legacy for the Kiser family. Proving that it’s not just sports cards that collectors will pay hefty prices for, the Kiser collection is expected to fetch an estimated $3 million when it is sold by Heritage Auctions on July 24-25. That would be a U.S. record for a sale of a trading card collection that is not sports related.

The loving father, Bart Kiser earned the nickname “Rad Dad” from his career as a radiologist. He connected with his kids through the colorful cards depicting “pocket monsters.” This Kisner family is once again reminded of his love and generosity in sharing the family’s Pokémon passion.

“This is by far one of the most extraordinary collections I’ve ever seen and one of the most extraordinary families I’ve ever seen,” said Joe Maddelena, Executive Vice President at Heritage Auctions. “The Kisers are a loving family and Bart’s delight at sharing the Pokémon experience with his children is evident in just how far he went to build this epic collection – the ‘Rad Dad Collection.’”

Pokémon, the trading card game that swept the world 26 years ago, has once again gone mainstream during the past year. This year Heritage Auctions garnered world-record auction prices for sealed box sets, one of which sold for $408,000. Newfound nostalgia driving the market is the push behind Heritage’s inaugural Trading Card Games Signature Auction, its first sale dedicated to cards from Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! and others. Sealed boxes and individual cards date from the mid-1990s through the mid-2000s and are estimated to bring $3 million.

“I happened to go in our closet and there were two or three of these sealed boxes, plus 20 other boxes and I was like, OK, this is real,” Matt Kiser said.

The rare Pokémon Japanese Gym Challenge Set Sealed Booster Box (Media Factory, 1999) focused on the last four Gym Leaders from the game’s Kanto region: the physic-type Gym Leader Sabrina, the poison-type Gym Leader Koga, the-fire type Gym Leader Blaine, and Gym Leader Giovanni (leader of the evil Team Rocket organization). This is a sealed booster box from the set.

The set (est. $10,000) was released on June 25, 1999 over a year before the English version. The artwork on the box features the 4 Gym Leaders with a then little-known face in the background, Mewtwo. These Japanese boxes are not only rare but they also come with almost twice the number of booster packs, 60 packs in total.

A Pokémon First Edition Fossil Set Sealed Booster Box (Wizards of the Coast, 1999) (est. $15,000) was the third set of the Pokémon Trading Card Game and Bart Kiser acquired a box shortly after it was released Oct. 10, 1999. He preserved the box in its original shrink-wrap. The set included 62 total cards, and since the box includes 36 booster packs, each with 11 cards for a total of 396 cards, it's likely that it includes more than one complete set, making it a must-have for hardcore Pokémon collectors.

Additional highlights from the Rad Dad Collection include:

A shrink-wrap sealed Pokémon First Edition Team Rocket Set Sealed Booster Box (Wizards of the Coast, 2000), est. $15,000

The 2000 booster box of the Pokémon First Edition Gym Heroes Set (Wizards of the Coast), est. $15,000

A rare, sealed Pokémon Japanese Fossil Set Booster Box (Media Factory, 1997), also known as Mystery of the Fossils (in Japan), est. $15,000

The iconic, 1997 Japanese release of Pokémon Team Rocket Set Sealed Booster Box (Media Factory, 1997), est. $15,000

The Rad Dad Collection will debut in Heritage Auctions’ Trading Card Games Signature Auction, July 24-25 on HA.com.

PORTLAND, Ore. 07/15/2021 — Image Comics is pleased to announce that the Eisner Award winning series Paper Girls by Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang with colors by Matt Wilson will be collected in its entirety into a trade paperback compendium. Paper Girls: The Complete Story will feature new cover art by Chiang and will hit shelves this Fall from Image Comics.

“I’m so proud of this story," said Vaughan. "And I think our young heroes’ complex journey through time reads particularly well in one epic binge-read, so this gorgeous new collection is the perfect way to enjoy the entire series, currently being adapted as an amazing television show for Amazon Prime!”

According to an exclusive with DEADLINE, "Always Be My Maybe star and Baby Cobra comedian Ali Wong will join Amazon’s Paper Girls series, based on Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang’s graphic novel, from Amazon Studios, Legendary TV and Plan B. She will join series leads Sofia Rosinksy, Camryn Jones, Riley Lai Nelet and Fina Strazza. Stephany Folsom and Christopher C. Rogers will co-showrun. Vaughan, Chiang, Plan B, Christopher Cantwell and the showrunners will serve as executive producers for the series, which is set to film in Chicago this year."
Paper Girls follows four twelve-year-old newspaper delivery girls from the year 1988 who uncover the most important story of all time. Suburban drama and otherworldly mysteries collide in this critically acclaimed series about nostalgia, first jobs, and the last days of childhood.
Chiang added: "We had so much fun filling these thirty issues with mystery, friendship, and giant robots, and I'm thrilled to present this hefty volume for anyone who wants to dive into the whole story."
The mind-bending storytelling of Lost meets the ’80s nostalgia of Stand by Me in this addictive, award winning bestseller.

Paper Girls: The Complete Story trade paperback (ISBN: 978-1534319998, Diamond Code: AUG210107) will collect the complete series, issues #1-30, and be available on Wednesday, October 27 and in bookstores on Tuesday, November 2. It can be pre-ordered at your local comic book shop or independent bookstore via Bookshop or IndieBound, or it can be pre-ordered on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, and Indigo.

Paper Girls remains available for purchase across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.
Select praise for Paper Girls:

“The book remains gorgeous throughout every issue, every volume. Chiang and Wilson create big moments of weirdness—invisible mecha, unraveling time machines, kaiju tardigrades, card-catalog golems—that strike exactly the right balance between recognizable and utterly inexplicable to create a sense of the uncanny in both the girls and the reader. But they really shine in the quiet emotional moments of contemplation and realization... It’s glorious and moving, and also awkward and funny.” --Tor.com

“Paper Girls’ vivid color palette and Chiang’s unique drawing style beautifully complement Vaughan’s creative time-bending storyline.” --KORE Magazine

“Amazing” --99.9 KISW Radio

“A brilliant series.” --The Plain Dealer

“Its tone is harder, flintier, funnier, more pragmatic, and far less concerned with idealizing the ‘lost innocence’ of childhood [than Stranger Things and Super 8].” --NPR

“Paper Girls is a reminder of how fresh and accessible even the most familiar stories and tropes can feel when people who have been consigned to the sidelines of popular entertainment take center stage.” --SLATE

“A total blast, a mass-cultural mash-it-up that evokes everything from B-movie creature-feature thrills to vintage YA angst to the pop-plundering album covers of Hipgnosis. I've re-read the series three times now—sometimes to get re-unstuck in Vaughan's time-bending story; sometimes to study Cliff Chiang's vibrant, spacious illustrations; sometimes to take in Matt Wilson's neon, period-perfect coloring...Chances are you'll get sucked into it, too—especially if Stranger Things...has whet your appetite for more Reagan-era intrigue.” --WIRED

“The story opens with an earnest, Spielberg-esque vibe that sends you soaring before abruptly plunging you down into the creepy and bizarre, ultimately leaving you with the most WTF cliffhanger...of the year.” --Vox.com

“You all should be reading Brian K. Vaughan's [and Cliff Chiang’s’] Paper Girls comic series now.” --The Los Angeles Times

“Every volume of Paper Girls has been marked by outstanding dialog, incredible, likable characters, and art worthy of the magnificent Fiona Staples, whose work on Saga has revived a kind of Jack Kirby/Canteen on Mos Eisley comic surrealism that Chiang is definitely dabbling in here.” --Boing Boing

“His plotting on Paper Girls is second to none, and lays subplot trails with an artistry that would be earning him all kinds of mainstream accolades if this were a Netflix series and not a comic book. But the look of Paper Girls is utterly gorgeous as well.” --The Guardian UK

Free comic books for military

(July 15, 2021) In October of 2020, ComicBooks For Kids! created a sister charity called ComicBooksForTroops. In this way, comic books inappropriate for younger children or Teens could be routed to the military. In just six months, ComicBooks For Kids!/Troops had provided 13,000 comics to all branches of the military. Special Forces reached out requesting more comics quickly after the initial push and ComicBooksFor Troops was dispensing thousands of comics as quickly as publishers could donate them.
Mark Weiss, president and founder said, "When the Special Forces asked us for that many comics, we knew what to do. One quick phone call to our friend Buddy Saunders, the largest comic e-tailer in the US and one of the nicest human beings on the planet and we knew we were in great shape. Buddy has been a supporter of us since the very beginning and the only thing bigger than his warehouse is his heart"

Said Buddy Saunders, "After kids, those that are most dear to our hearts are our military folks, police and other first responders. Everyone here at Lone Star Comics/MyComicShop can never do enough for them."

A few days later the Special Forces received two palettes of comics, approximately 22,000 comics making this one of the largest single donations of comic books to the military at one time. Moreover, this brings ComicBooks For Kids!/Troops total to the military at over 35,000 comics for the last six months and the charity has just eclipsed over 100,000 units to both hospitals and the military since its inception. Lonestar Comics/Mycomicshop.com was the sole supplier of this initiative. Wish to donate to the cause? Email [email protected] directly.
