Introducing…MOSAIC!

Coming this fall, Marvel Comics continues to break new ground as we welcome the newest character into the Marvel fold. Launching as part of the upcoming Marvel NOW! initiative, we are pleased to announce MOSAIC #1 – a brand-new ongoing series from American screenwriter and novelist, Geoffrey Thorne (Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man) and artistextraordinaire, Khary Randolph (Deadpool: The Gauntlet, Tech Jacket)!
“To say that Morris will have a long, hard road to travel to become a hero is an understatement,” says Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso. “One minute, Mosaic holds the world in the palm of his hand, the next, he has absolutely nothing, except for powers that will transform him into one of the Marvel Universe's most complex characters -- powers that , if not properly harnessed, will feel more like a curse.”
Mosaic centers on Morris Sackett – professional basketball player and celebrity. Loved by millions, hated by his teammates. Only Morris is secretly something else – something Inhuman. Coming into contact with the transformative Terrigen Mists has given Morris spectacular new abilities. Imbued with the ability to jump from person-to-person like a ghost, Morris can control the bodies and memories of those he inhabits. But these fantastic new abilities come at a grave cost. Recognized as an all-star athlete, Morris has worked his whole adult life to raise his body to peak physical form, but after his transformation, his living body is no more, and Morris must now rely on other bodies to survive.
“Morris goes from being one of the most famous people in the world to being no one,” says Executive Editor Nick Lowe. “Now he not only has to do time in the bodies of people he never even would have noticed, but also deep into Marvel Universe events!”
Fans eager to meet Mosaic won’t have to wait long – as the character’s highly anticipated first appearance comes to comic shops next week in UNCANNY INHUMANS #11. Plus, ahead of his ongoing series, fans can experience a 10-page Mosaic origin story from Thorne & Randolph which will be available for free on August 6th at all Barnes & Noble stores nationwide, as part of their Get Pop-Cultured event.
MOSAIC #1 comes to comic shops and digital devices everywhere this October! For more on Mosaic and Marvel NOW!, visitMarvel.com.

Action Lab Danger Zone return vampires to their dark roots in new series

PITTSBURGH, PA- Remember when vampires were something you were scared of and didn’t fall in love with?
Michael R. Martin & Adam Orndorf, Co-Creators and Writers of Blood & Dust: The Life & Undeath of Judd Glenny do, and had one focus when writing this story. Create a world with vampires like no one had ever seen, and make them terrifying again.
With the illustrations of Roy Allan Martinez, colors of Raymund Lee, letters by Kel Nuttall and main covers by Brett Weldele, they brought together the perfect team to bring this terrifying family to life.
For 40 years Judd Glenny has hidden in the swamps of Boggy Depot, Oklahoma, a town too terrified to ever bother him or his family. Keeping his granddaughter Ruth chained up in the attic, too insane to care for her kids, Zeke 10, Saul 8, and Baby Hazel 6, Judd is waiting out eternity in his own self-imposed Hell, babysitting the never growing, never maturing, and never aging mistakes he made those 40 years ago.
But then comes a knock on the door…
Early reviews have been great!
“It’s about damn time someone came along and brought the gore back. Brought the violence back. Even better, they created a new lore that is different from anything I’ve ever read or seen on screen. And the best part so far… is that I still have no idea what is really going on.” Derek Williams, Talking Comicon https://www.talkingcomicon.com/comics/blood-and-dust-useless-review/

SEVEN TO ETERNITY A PERFECT TEN

Remender and Opeña will enchant the comics industry
Bestselling writer Rick Remender (BLACK SCIENCE, DEADLY CLASS, LOW, TOKYO GHOST), artist Jerome Opeña (Uncanny X-Force, Fear Agent), and colorist Matt Hollingsworth (TOKYO GHOST, WYTCHES) launch an all-new, jaw-dropping ongoing series in SEVEN TO ETERNITY this September.

In SEVEN TO ETERNITY, The God of Whispers has spread an omnipresent paranoia to every corner of the kingdom of Zhal; his spies hide in every hall spreading mistrust and fear. Adam Osidis, a dying knight from a disgraced house, must choose between joining a hopeless band of magic users in their desperate bid to free their world of the evil God, or accepting his promise to give Adam everything his heart desires.

“Before our time at Marvel, Jerome and I began working together at Image ten years ago on titles such as Strange Girl and Fear Agent so it’s very fitting we return now to tell the tale of the Seven to Eternity,” said Remender. “All those years ago we began discussing doing an epic fantasy tale at some point, should the planets ever align. A unique take on the familiar genre full of action, unexpected twists, totally unique characters and a villain who might end up stealing the show. It’s taken us a decade to get it together, but the wait was worth it. During the past decade we’ve collaborated on numerous projects and fine-tuned our mighty nerd skills to a point where what we produce here will eclipse our past collaborations and consume all evil in the universe and give a new pony to every child. This is without question Jerome’s best work to date and when you add super champion of color jive Matt Hollingsworth, once their powers are mixed into the art cauldron, something new and terrifying is born, a new level of sequential science.”

Opeña added: "It's been a long time coming, so it's amazing that Rick and I are seeing a project we've been developing for years finally become a reality. Having Matt Hollingsworth join up with us makes it even more exciting and I hope readers will enjoy what we've all been tirelessly working on."

SEVEN TO ETERNITY takes readers on a hard road through the strange fantasy world of Zhal. All men have surrendered their freedom for fear. Now, one last free man must choose.

SEVEN TO ETERNITY #1 Cover A by Opeña and Hollingsworth (Diamond Code JUL160664), Cover B by Tony Moore (Diamond Code JUL160665), and Cover C by Andrew Robinson (Diamond Code JUL160666) will hit comic book stores on Wednesday, September 21st. The final order cutoff deadline for comic book retailers isMonday, August 29th.

Collects the first arc into trade paperback this August

“Flawless.” —The Nerdist

From writer Simon Spurrier (X-Men: Legacy) and superstar artist Ryan Kelly comes the darkly folkloric CRY HAVOC, VOLUME 1: MYTHING IN ACTION, which collects issues #1-6 in trade paperback this August.

Meet Lou: a street musician savaged by a supernatural terror.

Meet Lou: a civilian crossing war-torn Afghanistan with a unit of shapeshifting soldiers.

Meet Lou: a monstress held captive by the rogue beast she was sent to kill.

CRY HAVOC interweaves three stages of a remarkable life into a critically-exalted saga of military, myth, and mania, including an unprecedented use of multiple colorists (Matt Wilson, Lee Loughridge, & Nick Filardi) to define the story's threads.

CRY HAVOC, VOLUME 1: MYTHING IN ACTION (ISBN 978-1-63215-833-8) hits comic book stores Wednesday, August 17th and bookstores Tuesday, August 23rd and will be available for $14.99. It can be ordered by retailers through Diamond Book Distributors with the Diamond Code MAY160675. It can be preordered now via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indiebound, and Indigo.

PRAISE FOR CRY HAVOC:

“An electrifying account of black ops, black dogs and weaponised folklore that is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Best in show.” —Alan Moore

“CRY HAVOC is flawless. It sinks its teeth into you and won’t let go. Graceful, elegant, visceral and fierce, it runs the gamut. If there’s any justice in the world this will be another huge hit for Image Comics.” —The Nerdist

“The supernatural spec-ops comic for grownups. Literary, human, complicated, bloody, horrible, compulsive.” —Kieron Gillen

“CRY HAVOC arrives like Christmas, reads like candy, and lingers like a concussion. One of the most thrilling and surprising books I’ve read in ages.” —Gail Simone

Ongoing Series Debut for 2016's Breakout Hero Adds Legendary Artist for Special Origin Spotlight Alongside Jody Houser, Pere Perez & Marguerite Sauvage

As revealed today at Vulture, Valiant is proud to announce that FAITH #1 – the much-anticipated ongoing series debut beginning "THE FUTURE OF VALIANT" initiative on July 20th –  has added Eisner and Harvey Award-winning artist Colleen Doran (The Sandman, A Distant Soil) and will grow to 40 pages for an all-new origin sequence introducing the history-making hero's first monthly title! Doran joins the series' ongoing creative team of rising star Jody Houser (Mother Panic, Orphan Black), Harvey Award nominee Pere Perez (ARCHER & ARMSTRONG, Batgirl) and 2016 Russ Manning Award nominee Marguerite Sauvage (DC Comics Bombshells) for a special guest appearance retelling of Faith's miraculous early life and origin – a perfect introduction for new readers wowed by Faith's five-time sold-out limited series and subsequent spotlight-stealing appearances in major news outlets around the world!

"Colleen Doran is one of the most influential comic book artists of her generation and a true pioneer," said FAITH Editor Tom Brennan. "Having her on board for the launch of FAITH #1 is an honor and speaks volumes about the importance that the character has taken on across the comics landscape in the short time since her solo debut early this year. Not only is her contribution to the inaugural issue a key one, but it's a wonderful illustration of how and why Faith is a hero unlike any other in comics today."

A 30-year veteran of the comics industry and a winner of the Eisner, Harvey and International Horror Guild awards, Colleen Doran has contributed to some of the most acclaimed titles in comics history, including The Sandman, Wonder Woman, Amazing Spider-Man, Legion of Super-Heroes, Teen Titansand many more. As the creator of A Distant Soil, Doran wrote and illustrated one of the industry's longest running and most revered creator-owned series. In the intervening years, she worked on a number of prominent projects in and out of the superhero genre, including Orbiter with writer Warren Ellis, Mangaman with writer Barry Lyga, Gone to Amerikay with writer Derek McCulloch, and The Book of Lost Souls with writer J. Michael Straczynski. Her latest work, the graphic novel Troll Bridge – adapted from the short story by Neil Gaiman – will be released in October by Dark Horse. FAITH #1 is her first work for Valiant Entertainment.

In a city under siege by robots, aliens, monsters and even worse… celebrities, there is only one woman the people of Los Angeles can count on: the stratospheric superhero called Faith! Aspiring reporter by day and dedicated crime-fighter by night, Faith has tackled every obstacle in her path with confidence – like those crushing deadlines at work, the long-distance boyfriend half a world away, and the missing back issues that plague her comics collection! But, unbeknownst to her, Faith is about to collide with the one force she never saw coming: an up-and-coming super-villain bent on snuffing her out once and for all! But who is lurking behind the mask of her new foe…and could they just be the one person capable of rendering Faith powerless?

"THE FUTURE OF VALIANT" starts here on July 20th with the landmark first ongoing series for the breakout hero of the year, only in FAITH #1 – featuring a stunning slate of covers from Kevin Wada(She-Hulk), Jelena Kevic-Djurdjevic (Thor), Eisner Award winner Cary Nord (X-O MANOWAR),Emanuela Lupacchino (ARCHER & ARMSTRONG), Harvey Award nominee Pere Perez (IVAR, TIMEWALKER), Kano (Gotham Central), and Eisner Award winner Colleen Coover (Bandette)!

Created by former Marvel Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter (Secret Wars) and Eisner Award-winning writer and artist David Lapham (Stray Bullets) in the pages of Valiant’s acclaimed HARBINGER series in 1992, Faith has long been a central icon of Valiant’s award-winning publishing line. Then, in January 2016, the character took her long-awaited, much-demanded first step toward solo stardom with a groundbreaking limited series that quickly became the first and biggest breakout hit of the New Year from any major comics publisher. In the weeks and months since, Faith’s solo debut has garnered near-universal critical acclaim; generated attention from some of the world’s biggest media outlets includingthe Atlantic, the A.V. Club, the BBC, Cosmopolitan, Gizmodo, the Guardian, the Huffington Post, MTV, the New York Times, NPR, People, Seventeen, Today, Vox, the Washington Post, and dozens more; and become the first series of 2016 to reach a much-vaunted fifth printing – making it one of only a handful of hit series in the past decade to achieve that pivotal benchmark of fan and commercial demand.

Now, on July 20th, Faith's runaway success is set to continue with the all-new FAITH #1 – from the all-star creative team of Jody Houser, Pere Perez, Marguerite Sauvage and Colleen Doran!

Then, in the wake of FAITH #1, "THE FUTURE OF VALIANT" continues with an all-new wave of ongoing series, prestige format projects, and standalone events from a star-studded roster of some of comics’ most visionary talents! Beginning in July with FAITH #1, "THE FUTURE OF VALIANT" will extend throughout 2016 with a total of seven epic series – each introducing an innovative array of new concepts and characters…and firmly establishing Valiant’s place as the premier publisher of creative storytelling in comics today:
