In the grand tradition of cult classic crossovers such as ARCHIE MEETS KISS and ARCHIE MEETS RAMONES, the next surefire comic book crossover hit arrives in February 2020 with ARCHIE MEETS THE B-52s!

From the fan-favorite Archie Comics creative team of co-writers Alex Segura and Matt Rosenberg (ARCHIE MEETS RAMONES, THE ARCHIES) and artist Dan Parent (ARCHIE MEETS KISS), the ARCHIE MEETS THE B-52s one-shot comic book will rock you with a new wave of fun, excitement, and humor like only Archie Comics and The B-52s can provide.

“I'm so excited to not only revisit Archie's legendary run of off-the-wall, awesome music crossovers, but to do it with my original partner in crime, Archie legend, Dan Parent,” said co-writer and Archie Comics Co-President Alex Segura.

“The B-52s are a seminal, quirky, and groundbreaking group, and I feel so lucky to have the chance to make a little rock and roll history with them and Riverdale's own, The Archies. Expect a lot of bonkers fun, eye-popping art, and a lot of new wave-y adventure.”

"The B-52s are not only a legendary rock group, but are an important part of my life,” added artist Dan Parent.

“They are a band who meant a lot to the kids who felt like they were out of the norm, and they made it cool to embrace your inner weirdo. So, to be able to bring that brand of musical quirkiness to Riverdale is a dream come true. The B-52s in Riverdale makes sense, and I'm not even sure why! All I know is fun will be had!"

The unlikely yet seemingly meant-to-be crossover of The Archies and The B-52s was something co-writer Matt Rosenberg also loved, adding, "If there is a better pairing then the cartoonish psychedelia of the B-52s and the literal cartoons of the Archies I don't know what it is. And getting to watch Dan Parent draw them together is an opportunity I obviously couldn't pass up. I'm so excited for this book it's crazy to me that it's a real thing, it feels like I'm living in my own private Riverdale."

To find out more information about ARCHIE MEETS THE B-52s, stay tuned for news coming out of the ARCHIE COMICS FOREVER: CELEBRATING 80 YEARS panel this Friday, October 4 at New York Comic Con.

HAPPINESS WILL FOLLOW in Mike Hawthorne’s New Graphic Memoir From BOOM! Studios

Discover For the First Time the Heartwrenching Personal Story of Acclaimed Comic Book Artist in May 2020

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 26, 2019) –  BOOM! Studios is proud to announce a brand new graphic novel
HAPPINESS WILL FOLLOW from Eisner and Harvey Award-nominated cartoonist Mike Hawthorne
(Deadpool, Superior Spider-Man) as he tells the true and tragic story of enduring abuse and discovering
a love of art that helped him to build the home he never had in this graphic memoir about family,
survival, and what it means to be Puerto Rican in America.

Mike Hawthorne's mother, Blanca Otero, was a proud though atypical Puerto Rican woman
from Santurce, San Juan who moved to the mainland, where she became a single mother
and struggled to raise her son alone in New York City, a place that tormented them both with its unforgiving nature. But when Mike falls victim to a death curse—a haunting sign
of the old country that his mother could never truly escape--
she begins a series of events that drive him away from her both physically and emotionally,
leaving him to grapple with his complicated relationships with his mother, identity, and heritage.

Mike Hawthorne is an Eisner and Harvey Award-nominated cartoonist and illustrator
best known for his record-setting run of Deadpool and his more current work on Spider-man.
In addition to his comic work, Hawthorne has served as a story artist and illustrator for Fox,
Illumination, Epic Games, as well as Marvel Entertainment,
where he did concept work for the upcoming Moon Knight and Hitmonkey shows.

“Many will know me from my work on Spider-man and Deadpool but with HAPPINESS WILL FOLLOW,
I'm digging deeper into my personal history than I ever have in my career,” said cartoonist Mike Hawthorne. “While HAPPINESS WILL FOLLOW may seem like a straightforward memoir,
I believe it truly serves as an illustration of what it means to be
Puerto Rican in the United States. What it means to have a nationality
with no real nation. I hope you'll be onboard with me."

“Muchos me conocerán por mis comics de Spider-man y Deadpool, pero con
HAPPINESS WILL FOLLOW voy a presentarles más a mi historia personal

HAPPINESS WILL FOLLOW

is the latest release from BOOM! Studios’ ambitious Archaia imprint, home to graphic novels such as Mouse Guard by David Petersen; New World by David Jesus Vignolli; Jane by Aline Brosh McKenna and Ramón Pérez; About Betty’s Boob by Vero Cazot and Julie Rocheleau; Bolivar by Sean Rubin; and licensed series including Lev Grossman’s The Magicians: Alice’s Story by Lilah Sturges and Pius Bak; Jim Henson’s The Power of the Dark Crystal and Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: Coronation.

“Mike has an incredible gift for illustration and storytelling, and it’s even more deeply moving when he turns that gift to sharing the story of his childhood and how his relationship with his mother shaped his entire life, even to this day,” said Sierra Hahn, Executive Editor, BOOM! Studios. “HAPPINESS WILL FOLLOW is a singular memoir about complicated relationships with your family, culture, and identity and we’re very proud to be a part of bringing this graphic novel to life.”

Print copies of HAPPINESS WILL FOLLOW will be available in May 2020 at local comic book shops (use comicshoplocator.com to find the nearest one), bookstores, or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and the BOOM! Studios app.

ComiXology Originals Announces Forgotten Home A New Comic Book Series About Magic, Mystery, and Family Secrets Written by Erica Schultz with Art by Marika Cresta Featuring Covers by Natasha Alterici

9/26/2019

Picture
Forgotten Home #1 is available on October 2nd

September 26, 2019 – New York, NY--ComiXology, Amazon’s premier digital comics service, announces Forgotten Home, an 8-issue urban fantasy comic book series full of magic, mystery, and family secrets written by Erica Schultz, with art by Marika Cresta, colors by Matt Emmons and Jackie Von Spanks, letters by Cardinal Rae, and covers by Natasha Alterici. Forgotten Home #1 debuts October 2nd and will be available to read at no additional cost for Amazon Prime, Kindle Unlimited, and comiXology Unlimited members, and also available for purchase on Kindle and comiXology. Forgotten Home is from Vices Press who originally debuted on comiXology via comiXology Submit.

In Forgotten Home, Sheriff’s Deputy Lorraine Adalet investigates child disappearances all over Montana and finds a connection between many of the abductions: traces of magic! Lorraine’s search ramps up when her own teenage daughter is caught up in the kidnappings, and Lorraine learns the culprit is tied to her own past. Lorraine’s investigation leads her back to her home world of Jannada, a magical realm in a bitter war that she fled as a teenager. Now that Lorraine’s two lives have collided, she must confront her past across two worlds and save her daughter.

“Lorraine is a single mother from another world who is forced home when children start to disappear in her town on Earth,” says artist Marika Cresta. “Lorraine is the princess of her home world, Jannada, but returning home isn’t easy for her, as her relationship with the queen is strained. At its heart, Forgotten Home is a story about family with problems, misunderstandings and imperfections, all of which play out in a fantastical and unexpected setting.”
“I’ve had a fabulous time creating a magical world that the audience will believe truly exists,” says writer Erica Schultz. “Yissel Ayala, a fashion designer for several comic books, was kind enough to take on the task of creating the initial designs for the Jannadan royal outfits. Her style is impeccable, and,
coupled with Marika Cresta’s line art, this book is just gorgeous.”

Forgotten Home is already garnering accolades from the comics community:
“It’s a crime story. It’s a magic story. It’s … wait, what the hell is this thing? Forgotten Home by Erica Schultz and Marika Cresta is hard to categorize, unless the category is great comics. I’m fascinated by what I’ve read, and completely intrigued to see where it’s going.”
—Ron Marz (The Adventures of Superman, Green Lantern)

“A really fun genre mashup that drops you in and doesn't hold your hand, all the while building mythology and asking questions you can't wait to find out the answers to.”
—Kyle Higgins (Hadrian's Wall, Winter Soldier)

“Forgotten Home is an untouched realm of fantasy crime--like Stranger Things meets Supernatural in today's setting. Erica, Marika, Matt, Jackie, and Cardinal create a magical realm that seems realistic and relatable, certainly a world that you want to jump into and follow closely.”
—Liana Kangas (She Said Destroy, Black AF)

“Engaging, smart and stylish as all hell.”
—Simon Fraser (2000AD)

“Schultz and Cresta have crafted a complex narrative full of mystery and magic. I expected nothing less from this creative team than a great comic book, and they somehow delivered something even better. Forgotten Home is unforgettable.”
—Eric Palicki (No Angel, Dead Beats)

“I can’t wait to see how this story unfolds!”
—Matt Miner (GWAR, Death Trap)

“Forgotten Home grabs you from page one -- and that's before the magic even really begins. A great mystery and a compelling mythology have already started to form in the first chapter and I can't wait for more.”
—Erik Burnham (Transformers/Ghostbusters, Red Sonja)

“An intriguing mix of adventure and wonder and the mundane, both quietly epic and very personal. Wonderful art. Highly recommended.”―Jeff VanderMeer, Annihilation

“TOPSIDE is an engrossing adventure buoyed by lush sci-fi landscapes and unlikely friendships. Monk and Bogosian have crafted an imaginative odyssey that calls to mind the works of Hayao Miyazaki.”―Kristen Gudsnuk, Making Friends

“Thoughtful, woke, and enjoyably propulsive. The world Monk and Bogosian describe is terrible, but such an enjoyable place to spend an afternoon.”―Zander Cannon, Kaijumax

“Vibrant and fun, TOPSIDE blasts off on a colorful journey across an alien world.”
―Katie Shanahan, Silly Kingdom

(September 26. 2019) On October 1, 2019, Graphic Universe will publish TOPSIDE, a wild outer-space fantasy graphic novel about fixing your mistakes and the friends you meet along the way, by writer J.N. Monk and artist Harry Bogosian, the creators of the acclaimed web comic StarHammer.

Meet Jo Wilson, repair technician. She’s talented. Headstrong. And… in a lot of trouble. Jo keeps things running inside the Core, an underground society on the verge of collapse. All she asks in return is that people stay out of her way. When a routine assignment goes haywire, Jo has no one but herself to blame. To fix the slipup, she’ll have to head topside, onto her planet’s lawless, unruly surface. Jo’s journey sends her wandering through deserts, riding on the backs of giant beasts and cutting deals with con artists and bounty hunters. And all the while, the agents of the Core are in hot pursuit.

“Jo makes a mistake that damages a vital component to one of her planet's core systems. Her mistake is just the straw that broke the camel's back, but she blames herself and makes it her own responsibility to fix it no matter what,” said writer J.N. Monk. “The idea that the responsibility of the world lies with any one person isn't true; it'll take all of us to see things through. And that's something Jo has to discover for herself."

“I want to be able to create worlds that people find themselves believing in, and wanting to visit,” said artist Harry Bogosian. “Even if the fictional world is a dark place I want it to be one that is so intriguing that the reader feels a compulsion to visit it. The best fictional worlds have always been ones that your mind visits even when you are not currently reading or watching it.”

TOPSIDE’s epic world building and unforgettable and diverse cast of characters has drawn praise from the likes of  Jeff VanderMeer (Annihilation), Kristen Gudsnuk (Making Friends), Zander Cannon (Kaijumax), Katie Shanahan (Silly Kingdom) and more.

“As quest stories go, the world building in this one is impressive. Both Topside and the Core feel fully realized, with wordless panels full of imaginative creatures, a diverse cast of expressive characters, and strong, evocative colors doing much of the storytelling. A dystopian sf graphic novel perfect for readers new to the genre."―Booklist

"When a small mistake quickly snowballs, a young girl of color braves the strange surface of her planet to prove she can set things right…. Immersive, mysterious, and just the right amount of trippy."
―Kirkus Reviews

Discover the Shocking Effects of the Historic Buffy and Angel
 Event HELLMOUTH in October 2019

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 26, 2019) – BOOM! Studios,
in partnership with 20th Century Fox, revealed today a first look at ANGEL #6. Acclaimed filmmaker and writer Bryan Edward Hill (American Carnage, Batman & The Outsiders) and artist Gleb Melnikov, along with series creator and story consultant Joss Whedon (the visionary writer/director behind Firefly, Marvel’s The Avengers, and more)
reimagine the groundbreaking pop culture phenomenon as the world deals with the
consequences of the open HELLMOUTH, available in stores October 2019.

With Angel trapped in the HELLMOUTH with the Slayer, the rest of his newly formed team has their hands full dealing with the fallout in Los Angeles. Will this gang of supernatural crime-solvers be able to protect Los Angeles from the shockwaves of the Hellmouth's opening… and from newly arrived vampire, Spike?

ANGEL #6 features a main cover by artist Dan Panosian (Slots, Batman: Arkham Knight),
along with variant cover by horror illustrator
Scott Buoncristiano (Harry Potter: Magical Film Projections, Dead Rabbit),
artist Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and more.

Created by visionary writer and director Joss Whedon (Marvel’s The Avengers film franchise),
Angel premiered on the WB Network on October 5th, 1999
and was a spin-off from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The series ran for five seasons from 1999–2004,
starring David Boreanaz as Angel, the tortured vampire destined to walk the earth with a soul
who moved to LA to set up shop as a supernatural private investigator.
Despite Angel’s best efforts to deal with the sins of his past all by himself,
Angel Investigations soon became home to other lost souls
searching for redemption and willing to fight by his side.

ANGEL is the newest release from BOOM! Studios’ eponymous imprint,
home to critically acclaimed original series, including Once & Future by Kieron Gillen and Dan Mora;
 Something is Killing the Children by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera;
