THE PORT OF EARTH OPENS FOR BUSINESS THIS FALL
All-new sci-fi series from ECLIPSE creator Zack Kaplan

PORTLAND, OR, 07/2017 — Fan-favorite writer Zack Kaplan (ECLIPSE) teams up with all-star artist Andrea Mutti (Rebels, Prometheus) for a gritty new science fiction series, PORT OF EARTH, coming this November from Image Comics and Top Cow Productions.

Aliens have come to Earth, not in war or peace, but with a business deal: open up a spaceport here on Earth in exchange for advanced technology. But when our alien visitors break Port restrictions and wreak havoc in our cities, it falls to the newly formed Earth Security Agency to hunt down and safely deport the dangerous rogue aliens back to the Port of Earth.

“After exploring the solar apocalypse in ECLIPSE—which was just announced to be in development for TV, but more on that later—I’m thrilled to be tackling a very unique alien arrival story with another amazing creative team!” said Kaplan.

“My passion for sci-fi is very ancient, beginning when I was really young with Star Wars, Star Trek, Galactica, Space 1999, UFO, Alien, and dozens of other books and comics,” said Mutti. “I was like a black hole, reading and watching everything with aliens or spaceships with a sense of wonder at the unknown in the deep universe and all of its stars and planets…it’s amazing! I’m thrilled to be on PORT OF EARTH, such a cool project, full of great visuals, action, and an emotional touch; what else could a comic artist need?”

PORT OF EARTH #1 is set to launch this November.

Dell’otto Defenders Comics Donated To The Defenders Of Our Freedom

Frankie’s Comics and The Variant Collective of The Comic Mint, Sad Lemon, 7ate9, Amorphous Ink, and Golden Apple have announced their variant for The Defenders #4 by Gabriel Dell’Otto. They were further pleased to announce that all 3000 copies of the regular variant are being donated to the U.S. Military to be included in care packages sent to the troops by Operation Gratitude.

Amorphous Ink’s Joshua Cozine proposed the idea, and Kevin Fields (Frankie’s), Steven Finkel (Comic Mint), Simon Payne (Sad Lemon), Chris Bowers (7ate9), and David Dryden (Golden Apple) all agreed that Defenders was the perfect book to honor those that put their lives on the line so that we can sleep at night.

While the regular edition will not be available to fans, collectors won’t be completely left out. 600 copies of a virgin variant edition will be put up for sale on the various websites for $20, a very low price for a short run Marvel variant.

“We’re obviously not making any money at that price even if we sell out,” said Fields. “But this release isn’t about that. We just wanted to do something cool for our soldiers and the collecting community. I wish we could have announced this on July 4th, as that was the impetus for the idea, but it took longer than we thought to find a charity that would actually put the books in the hands of the troops. There are a lot of charities out there that claim to do it, but when you read the fine print, that’s not what they actually do. We’re so happy to be working with Operation Gratitude on this, as we know that our military men and women will have these in their hands soon.”

Defenders #4 releases on 8-9-17.  The virgin edition is available to order now on the following sites:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters Comic Book Crossover Sequel Coming

The Pop Culture Juggernauts Re-team for a 5-Week Crossover Series This November

San Diego (July, 2017) — This November, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Ghostbusters reunite for an inter-dimensional comic book adventure (and probably a large pizza!) in the upcoming weekly crossover event series from IDW Publishing.

Our story begins when an old adversary traps the Turtles in a ghost dimension, as old adversaries are wont to do. However, all hope is not lost for our Heroes in Half-Shell, as New York City’s resident experts on all things spooky quickly answer the call.

The dream writing team of Erik Burnham (Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Universe) and Tom Waltz (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, editor for Ghostbusters) are back to tackle scripting duties and will be joined by lead Ghostbusters artist Dan Schoening, whose animated art style has come to define the look of the Ghostbusters comics. An array of multi-talented artists with Turtles credentials are also getting in on the mass hysteria including Pablo Tunica (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Universe), Tadd Galusha (TMNT: Bebop & Rocksteady Destroy Everything), Mark Torres (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and C.P. Wilson III (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters).

“When Erik and I first broached the idea of joining the TMNT with the Ghostbusters way back when, it felt like a wonderfully impossible dream,” said co-writer Tom Waltz.  “Well, that dream came true with the first volume in a big way, and now I’m absolutely ecstatic to have the opportunity to once again help bring my two favorite quartets together for another massive comic book crossover event! And, like the first go-around, the events in this story directly flow out of and affect the storylines in both ongoing series.”

“I had such a blast working on the first crossover with Tom, and in the years since, we've talked about what we might do if we ever got a crack at a sequel,” said co-writer Erik Burnham. “When the opportunity came up, we didn't even use a single one of those plans! Instead, we grabbed villains from both universes and mixed them together to form the foundation of a fun story that furthers the ongoing stories of both the Turtles and the Ghostbusters. Even better, we get some more one-on-one scenes, allowing their complementary personalities to shine and we're beyond excited to share!”

When last the Turtles and the original ‘Busters crossed streams in 2014, the Turtles got stuck in the Ghostbusters dimension… along with a brand-new, all-powerful, all-crazy ghost from centuries past! It was met with enthusiasm from both fans and critics with IGN declaring the mash-up of proton packs and ninjutsu “hugely entertaining.”

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters 2 #1 hits stores Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Let the ectoplasm fly, dude!

Introducing, "THE REALM"...

Fifteen years ago, our world was overrun by creatures of myth: orcs, dragons, and other nameless horrors that threw the entire planet into total chaos. Today, the shattered remnants of civilization must fight tooth and nail to survive in a deadly new era of violence and mayhem.
Co-creators Jeremy Haun (THE BEAUTY) and Seth M. Peck (X-Men) team up with colorist Nick Filardi and letterer Thomas Mauer for THE REALM, a new ongoing series that dives into the grit and chaos of the post-apocalyptic world.

THE REALM will be available everywhere through Image Comics on September 13, 2017. Stay tuned for future e-mails detailing special offers, signing opportunities, and more!

“THE REALM is the book I've wanted to do my entire life. It's the perfect mash of everything I love to draw. Post-apocalyptic landscapes, dark magical citadels, machine gun-toting barbarians, unnamable horrors, DRAGONS—it doesn't get more fun than this.” - Jeremy Haun, Creator

"Creator-owned comics are the only place you can tell stories like THE REALMexactly as you want them to be told. [...] Jeremy and I wanted to blend all the genres we enjoy, mix in plenty of action, and give readers something unique and exciting to look forward to each month." - Seth Peck, Creator

Alan Moore & Kevin O'Neill presentThe League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Volume IV: THE TEMPEST

Six-issue miniseries will serve as "swan song" not only to award-winning LEAGUE series but also to creators' careers

San Diego, CA (July 20, 2017) – After an epic seventeen-year journey through the entirety of human culture – the biggest cross-continuity ‘universe’ that is conceivable – Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill will conclude both their legendary League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and their equally legendary comic-book careers with the series’ spectacular fourth and final volume, The Tempest.

Tying up the slenderest of plot threads and allusions from the three preceding volumes, The Black Dossier, and the Nemo trilogy into a dazzling and ingenious bow, the world’s most accomplished and bad-tempered artist-writer team will use their most stylistically adventurous outing yet to display the glories of the medium they are leaving; to demonstrate the excitement that attracted them to the field in the first place; and to analyse, critically and entertainingly, the reasons for their departure.
Opening simultaneously in the panic-stricken headquarters of British Military Intelligence, the fabled Ayesha’s lost African city of Kor and the domed citadel of ‘We’ on the devastated Earth of the year 2996, the dense and yet furiously-paced narrative hurtles like an express locomotive across the fictional globe from Lincoln Island to modern America to the Blazing World; from the Jacobean antiquity of Prospero’s Men to the superhero-inundated pastures of the present to the unimaginable reaches of a shimmering science-fiction future. With a cast-list that includes many of the most iconic figures from literature and pop culture, and a tempo that conveys the terrible momentum of inevitable events, this is literally and literarily the story to end all stories.
Commencing as a six-issue run of unfashionable, outmoded and flimsy children’s comics that will make you appear emotionally backward if you read them on the bus, this climactic magnum opus will also reprint classic English super-team publication The Seven Stars from the murky black-and-white reaches of 1964. A magnificent celebration of everything comics were, are and could be, any appreciator or student of the medium would be unwise to miss The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Volume IV: THE TEMPEST.
-- a 6-issue mini-series, each issue 32 pages in (mostly) full color, saddle stitched, 6 5/8” x 10 1/8” (standard comic-book size), $4.99 (US). Issue #1 is scheduled for June 2018.
Co-Published by Top Shelf Productions (US) and Knockabout (UK).
