When he finally gets his shot, Stanford and his classmates must put aside all personal differences and work together as a team in order to defend humanity against a new invasion of aliens.

“It is important for us to create stories that exemplify our teams’ diverse voices and art as a studio based in Tokyo, Japan,” said Jack Liang, Executive Producer, Polygon Pictures, Inc. “As part of our mission ‘to do what no other has done, in unparalleled quality, for all the world to see and enjoy’ we are ecstatic to have alongside with us, our supervising director, Tohru Patrick Awa, writer and executive producer, Aaron Lam and our talented diverse team of writers, to visualize the wonderful story created by Greg Pak, Takeshi Miyazawa, and BOOM! You are what you watch.
Vault Comics is thrilled to announce DEADBOX, a terrifying new horror series from writer Mark Russell, (Billionaire Island, Second Coming, Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles), artist Bejnamin Tiesma (Dead Body Road), colorist Vladimir Popov (Fearscape, A Dark Interlude), and designer Tim Daniel.

DEADBOX is a horror story set in the town of Lost Turkey, where the main source of entertainment is a cursed DVD machine that seems to know more about the fate of its citizens than they do.

“I wrote DEADBOX as a horror story, not just about a cursed DVD rental machine, but also about the feeling of being trapped, boxed if you will, in a town that doesn't get you and a place you will never feel at home in no matter how long you live there. As a kid who felt, in many ways, trapped by his upbringing and sought personal escape in movies, DEADBOX tells a story that's deeply personal to me, even though it's about something as goofy as haunted movies. My hope is that as fewer and fewer Americans begin to recognize the place they call home, this will have a personal meaning for them, too. That we can each, in our own way, find a way to survive the horror of the everyday.”

DEADBOX #1 will hit store shelves in August 2021. The entire series will feature a line of variant covers from Vault Cover-Artist-in-Residence, Corin Howell.

With Tess’s support, Elizabeth trains at the boxing facility of one of the most famous retired boxers and the only real fight promoter of any notoriety, James Figg. As Elizabeth trains with Figg and James Stokes, she confronts her personal demons of what destroyed her family and comes to terms with being the first half-Indian female boxer in a white male world. But all fairy tales have a dark side: those who don’t want to lose their immortality pay “Heart Hunters” to find their soul mates and kill them so they may remain immortal. Psyche, a Heart Hunter, is hired by the king to kill his soulmate. As she sets out on her quest, she begins her own journey of mending her broken heart and learning to trust again. They quickly let him in on their little secret…they are witches. Elliot joins them in their world among the crystal stores and occult shops of Silverlake and ends up joining his new friends’ coven. During one of their magical experiments, they accidentally release a bloodthirsty demon that starts murdering their classmates and teachers. Elliot and his coven realize that the fun and games of playing with crystals and candles is over, that magic is powerful, real, and that it might be more dangerous than they’d ever imagined. Writer: Simon Curtis. Arist: Stephanie Son.

  • Tragic (April 18, 2022) – a retelling of Shakespeare’s Hamlet from a queer lens and told through the eyes of 17-year-old Harper Hayes. After her father Hamilton dies a mysterious and tragic death, Harper is convinced that he was murdered, and her first suspect is her uncle, who has been sleeping with her mother. With the help of her ex-girlfriend Talia and her best friend (sometimes with benefits) Holden, Harper is determined to find her father's killer. But when Caius, Talia's father and Hamilton’s business partner, is also found dead, Harper realizes the answer to Hamilton’s murder is more complicated than she had initially realized. As Harper begins to see her father’s ghost in the form of a teenage Hamlet everywhere and starts slipping into hallucinations of his murder that end with blood on her hands, one thing becomes clear—in order to uncover the truth about what happened to her father, Harper has to confront her own demons and ones that haunt the Hayes family. Writer: Dana Mele. Artist: Valentina Pinti. Colorist: Chiara Di Francia.

Captain Picard’s Dark Reflection Thirsts for Power in
Scott and David Tipton’s Mirror Universe Magnum Opus

SAN DIEGO, CA (May 19, 2021) – For decades, Jean-Luc Picard of Star Trek: The Next Generation has represented an ideal of greatness to science fiction fandom, a character of intelligence, authority, and empathy. Beginning on “Star Trek Day” (September 8th), comic book and graphic novel publisher IDW invites readers to witness what the galaxy could be like at the mercy of a Captain Picard whose greatness is measured in cunning and cruelty, courtesy of an all-new event, Star Trek: The Mirror War.

Celebrated Star TrekTM comic writers Scott and David Tipton delve deep into the lore of the Mirror Universe, a perennial favorite concept amongst fans, in August’s Star Trek: The Mirror War #0, illustrated by Carlos Nieto. This zero issue features a new story of “Mirror Picard” as he’s summoned to Earth to face the wrath of his emperor, deftly weaving threads from past Mirror Universe tales in a way entertaining to newcomers and the initiated alike.

Following September’s #0 launch, the series will continue to build year-long tension with issues #1-8 and four interspersed tie-in specials, each highlighting a different member of the Next Generation cast. The first spin-off one-shot, slated for December, will focus on Data. Once complete, the 13-part saga will chart Mirror Picard’s path of conquest across all of the Mirror Universe, stoking the wrath of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance along the way.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to return to the Mirror Universe,” says Scott Tipton. “What’s in store for our Mirror Jean-Luc Picard and his Enterprise crew? New faces, new places, and old grudges. Picard’s ambitions are grander than ever, and nothing short of the throne itself will satisfy him!”

“In The Mirror War, we’ll be seeing what happens when Picard gets hold of information that can change the fortunes of the debilitated Terran Empire,” says David Tipton. “The Enterprise crew will find themselves in positions of potential power and wealth like never before.”

“With Mirror Broken, Through the Mirror, and Terra Incognita, Scott and David Tipton — along with our Mirror War series cover artist J.K. Woodward — crafted a compelling and wholly original corner of the Star Trek universe. We’re excited to continue that tradition with The Mirror War, all while bringing new artists and storytellers into those Trek landscapes that fans love,” says editor Megan Brown.

Star Trek: The Mirror War #0 will be available with multiple cover variants for retailers and fans to enjoy, including Cover A by series artist Carlos Nieto, Cover B by Ejiwa “Edge” Ebenebe, and a Retailer Incentive edition by Bex Glendining. Starting with issue #1, J.K. Woodward will be providing cover artwork for every issue.

Mad with bloodlust, Venus gives chase with an army of bio-engineered male clones that land on prehistoric Earth. This sets the stage for an epic conflict between Venus’ army and a rag-tag coalition of lunar ladies, prehistoric humans and native Earth animals. In the time of greatest need, Clare harnesses the power of the moonstone talisman to deliver a crushing blow to Venus’ forces.

QUOTE from creator Omar Morales:
"THE LUNAR LADIES is a love letter to the golden age, public domain character, Moon Girl, who is the central figure of this ray-guns-and-laser-rays Sci-Fi story. Back when I cross promoted this book with Charlie Stickney’s White Ash on Kickstarter, I never imagined we’d hook up again as creator and publisher at Scout Comics. I couldn’t be more thrilled that this title found a home with a publisher that loves indie comics as much as I do! Pew! Pew!”
(W) Omar Morales (A) Joel Cotejar (CA) Renae De Liz

A million years ago, in outer space, a highly-advanced society of women lives under the surface of the moon. Their peaceful way of living is quietly fracturing from the inside, as political ideologies pit the queen of the moon against a geneticist hell bent on usurping the queen's power. The Lunar Ladies is an homage to the public domain character, Moon Girl, complete with Golden Age ray guns and laser rays. PORTLAND, Ore. 05/19/2021 — The bestselling creative team behind the Eisner Award nominated Middlewest—Skottie Young and Jorge Corona—reunite for a haunting new tale in, The Me You Love in the Dark. The new five issue miniseries is set to launch from Image Comics this August.

In this chilling new series an artist named Ro retreats from the grind of the city to an isolated old house to find solace and inspiration—but the muse within is not quite what she expected.

“When Jorge and I were planning our follow up to Middlewest we both wanted to do a love story and a horror story. So, we decided to combine the two,” said Young in an exclusive on the announcement at Comic Book Resources. “Then, like Ro in the comic, I went and rented a creepy house, turned off the lights, lit some candles and started writing. I didn’t come out until I was done.”

Fans of Stephen King and Neil Gaiman will enjoy this beautiful, dark, and disturbing story of discovery, love, and terror.

Corona added: “After the amazing journey of Middlewest, Skottie and I wanted to take a stab at a more intimate story. Dark and moody, this book is an exploration into love and relationships, the highs and the lows, where fantasy meets reality to show the darkest corners of human nature."

The Me You Love in the Dark #1 (Diamond Code JUN210046) will be available at comic book shops on
Wednesday, August 4.

The Me You Love in the Dark #1 will also be available for purchase across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.

Transformers: King Grimlock

Written by Steve Orlando (Wonder Woman, Justice League of America) with art by Agustin Padilla (Dungeons & Dragons, Suicide Squad) and colors by Jeremy Colwell, King Grimlock is a five-issue miniseries that casts one of the most iconic Transformers characters into a world of fantastical beasts and magical powers!

“King Grimlock is a sky-high dream come to life, a story so big and wild, I wasn't sure if the Transformers universe could contain it,” says Orlando. “This is a first-of-its-kind, science/fantasy epic for fans new and old, whether you follow the animation of the ‘80s, the modern shows of the ‘00s, the big screen blockbusters, the decades of incredible comics, or if you've been intrigued by Grimlock action figures on the shelf. Everyone's welcome!”

“Right from the start, I knew that King Grimlock had all the ingredients to be an incredible project, and I'm really proud and excited to bring it to life with this great team,” says Padilla.

Cary Nord, the Eisner Award-winning artist of Conan the Barbarian, provides the perfect cover artwork to fit Transformers: King Grimlock’s high fantasy theme, illustrating issue #1’s Cover A. Additional cover variants will be available for retailers and fans to enjoy, including Cover B by series artist Agustin Padilla, and a Retailer Incentive Edition featuring art by Mateus Santolouco (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder in Hell).

“By spotlighting a beloved character like Grimlock in an epic barbarian fantasy, Steve, Agustin, and Jeremy are crafting an iconic story that expands the understanding of who Grimlock is and what a Transformers story can be,” says editor David Mariotte. “Plus, a two-story tall robotic T-rex battles dragons, magicians, and monsters, which is awesome.”

Transformers: Shattered Glass

Everything you thought you knew about Cybertronian lore will be turned inside out with Transformers: Shattered Glass, an all-new five-issue miniseries written by Danny Lore (James Bond, King in Black: Captain America), illustrated by fan-favorite Transformers artists Guido Guidi and Dan Khanna, and colored by John-Paul Bove.

In a parallel universe, a war raged across the cosmos from Cybertron to Earth… a war between Decepticon laborers-turned-freedom fighters and the power-hungry Autobot autocrats. Many kilocycles after the blue planet was devastated and the Decepticons were brought to heel, the evil Autobot bodyscrapper named Blurr hunts a new bounty... one who holds a piece of information that could reignite the war!

“To this day, I'm the nerd whose heart swells when they hear Optimus Prime and Starscream's voices,” says Lore. “As a writer, I love exploring characterization, what the core elements are that make someone who and what they are. Creating these Shattered Glass versions of childhood favorites is like building the perfect Combiner for me: what are the nuts and bolts that we can swap out while still making them recognizable?”

Guidi, who will be illustrating issues #1, #3, and #5, says, “It’s absolutely a blast to be part of the Shattered Glass team! The best part as an artist is to convey the new twisted personalities in familiar faces, and Danny’s script allows a lot of fun with that aspect. It’s great to discover how a classic good guy can work well as an evil character, and vice-versa!”

Khanna, who will be illustrating issues #2 and #4, says, “It’s a thrill to be able to draw a completely fresh take on the classic cast with IDW’s all-new Shattered Glass universe and timeline! It’s a lot of fun to realize an evil Optimus Prime and noble version of Megatron.”

Three cover variants will be available from comic shops for Transformers: Shattered Glass #1: Cover A by Alex Milne (Transformers vs. The Terminator), Cover B by series artist Dan Khanna, and a Retailer Incentive Edition by Sara Pitre-Durocher (Transformers: Till All Are One).

“Our wonderful partners at Hasbro made a huge splash with their recent announcement of new Megatron and Blurr action figures packaged with our Shattered Glass comics, and we’re proud to bring that story content -- and specifically three cover variants exclusively available to the comics retail channels -- to the wide audience of monthly comics readers,” says assistant editor Riley Farmer.
Monthly Transformers and Transformers: Beast Wars Series

Transformers #34, by writer Brian Ruckley and artist Anna Malkova, kicks off the new “Sea of Rust” storyline in IDW’s critically acclaimed comics continuity of Cybertron in its earliest days of war! Megatron has learned that his former mentor, Termagax, holds a key artifact that could tip the scales of the war firmly in the Decepticons’ favor, eliminating the Autobots once and for all. The first order of business, however, is running Termagax down! Issue #34 features Cover A by Winston Chan, Cover B by Susan Margevich, and a Retailer Incentive Cover by Andrew Griffith.

Transformers: Beast Wars #7, by writer Erik Burnham and artist Winston Chan, launches a new story arc entitled “Pod.” Regrouping after their first explosive battle, the Maximals and Predacons are alerted to the descent of a new protoform pod… and its sole inhabitant, Blackarachnia! Whose side will this mysterious newcomer take? Issue #7 features Cover A by Fico Ossio, Cover B by Ed Pirrie, and a Retailer Incentive Cover by Gavin Guidry.

“The universe of Transformers comics continues to grow,” says IDW Editor-in-Chief John Barber. “With stories set across many different generations — G1, Beast Wars, plus wild alternate continuities and exciting new entry points — IDW and Hasbro’s Transformers line of comics really has something for everybody!”
