Agent Moss is back and she's about to drop one hell of a Bombshell. The team reels at this revelation and realize that there's only one man they can turn to as a result: the enigmatic ninja Ishikawa Minamoto.
So Moss is with everyone in the General’s office as they try to decide what to do with her, in front of her since the events of the last arc demonstrated she wasn’t one to be trusted. There’s a lot of back and forth between Flynn and the General as Flynn tries to convince everyone to hear her out. While she may not be trusted doesn’t mean her information isn’t valid. John too doesn’t want to give her a shred of credence and even with her bombshell statement in the room. Whether that’s true or not remains to be seen and only time will tell or a doctor who could examine her while she’s there. The dialogue is incredible for it’s characterisation element as you can feel the anger and frustration in the room.
I love the fact that Moss sat there and took all they had to say about her in silence and seemed to morph into another person when finally allowed to speak her peace. With her usual cigarette between her lips and a dress that’s nearly painted on she tells them everything she knows and even confesses to something she found later that rattled her. I am in love with that whole segment and here’s why, She’s oozing sex appeal, confidence and that she’s in control and all the while you can feel the oil that covers you as she tries to pull you in. She’s an opportunist and con artist and everything you think about her is probably true and being in her presence is something no amount of soap will be able to wash off. Tell me where you’ve seen more impressive characterisation?
We all know I’m a huge fan of someone who’s able to write and illustrate their own book. Everything we see on the page is meant to be there and is as strategic in it’s placement for maximum impact. Stephen is good at what he does too I mean the way page layouts are done with their angles and perspective show off is eye for storytelling. For me the pages that were most striking were the ones with the Cherry Blossoms the level of detail and how the expanded the feel of those panels were utterly amazing I wish that all the panels used backgrounds like these.
I do like that this is a continuation of the previous arc. The aftermath of what happened on the Island and the wiping out of those dinosaurs that the Germans were using to create a pathogen isn’t over. It would appear that it’s only just beginning as the Germans have speed up their timetable and are much further along with their pathogen using a new source of dinosaurs to do so. So in order to attempt to derail this and end it once and for all the band needs putting back together. But this band has more animosity and issues than even the Beetles did when they broke up, interesting that a used that analogy considering a woman was the cause for both.
So can everyone needed come together and do what it takes to stop the German pathogen from becoming reality? We’ll have to stay tuned to find out but with the way this issue ends the Magic 8 Ball says “outlook not so good.”
