Doctor Who The Ninth Doctor #4
Titan Comics 2015
Written by Cavan Scott
Illustrated/Coloured & Finishes by Blair Shedd
Colour Assists by Anang Setyawan
Lettered by Richard Starkings & Jimmy Betancourt

The Doctor, Rose and Jack are caught up in a temporal war between the power-suited Lect, and the angelic, centaur-like Unon! Vortex! Things came to a head at the Fluren Temporal Bazaar, an illegal weapons fair hidden inside a supernova, where the Doctor discovered, to his great dismay, that Gallifreyan weapons were on sale; dangerous relics of the Time War. Having lured out both the Unon and the Lect by offering his unique, Time Lord mind to the highest bidder, the Doctor was captured by Arnora, leader of the Unon, and held for interrogation in a sub-dimensional void. Meanwhile, Rose and Captain Jack struggled to escape the self-destructing Fluren. Having dodged the clutches of the Lect, they boarded the TARDIS – just as the time bubble around Fluren deactivated... and the world burned in the heat of a supernova! Has the Doctor just seen his friends die?!

All too often people overlook the 9th Doctor and Christopher’s portrayal of him.  It was fun, quirky and had just the perfect amount of smug snarkiness to it.  He introduced Rose and Captain Jack as well.  Cavan here recaptures the magic of the early renditions of the characters so beautifully.  Rose’s naivete and Jack’s constant flirting and the Doctor’s just sense of self worth all blend to make some incredible reading here.

This story brings back two characters to a place where they weren’t as well versed with the Tardis and the Doctor as they become and seeing them all in action and reacting to the circumstances they find themselves in is brilliantly done.  Rose being held prisoner and finding herself alone and lost her faith in the Doctor wavering still holds onto that defiant stubborn nature and that’s fun it reminds me as a reader and a fan of when she was still inexperienced.  Her reaction to the Lect of course is classic and one of the reasons she was and remains my favorite companion.

Now i’m not familiar with the Unon or the Lect but perhaps they are new creations of Cavan’s and if so then hell to the yeah for creating new threats or friends depending on the situation that can pop up again in the other Doctor’s books.  Regardless the concept behind this story is amazing too as with the Galllifreyan’s gone there was a void and someone needed to step in and try to fix time when it’s goes awry through someone’s meddling.  The remnants of the Unon after the Time War have stepped up and done just that, how and why is for reading the story to learn.

As usual things are never what they appear to be so friends and foes are often one and the same but can the same be said about the Doctor’s companion?  After being put through a test and with Jack eager to save Rose it looks like there will be a battle between the Lect and the Unon with the Doctor and friends caught in the middle.

Blair’s work on the interiors is nothing short of brilliantly stunning.  There’s a bit about the art process in the back of the issue if you want to see how he does it.  Also how he and Anang work together to create the final colouring.  Personally i’m a huge fan of the style we see on the page and the line work and inking process, the colouring all of it leave it with a very unique style that engages the reader quite nicely.

This is why I love Titan Comics they’ve brought back all the Doctor’s for untold stories and have an amazing group of talented people bringing it to life.

Eternal Soufire #4
Aspen Comics 2015
Written by J.T. Krul

Lettered by Josh Reed

Miya’s past revealed the ageless battle between magic and the Chaos. Upon the return of magic, the young warrior collected a collective of able fighters, and grew into the leader she was destined to become. Meanwhile, Cassidy made her own discovery of her new magical abilities, and narrowly escaped the S.W.A.T. Teams’ dragnet--before she was rescued by Miya’s tribe…

I like that this issue focuses on Cassidy she’s fifteen years old and has entered a world that is both thrilling and scary for her.  Seeing the kind of kid she was and the woman she can become is something J.T. has been able to tell exceptionally well.  As we open with a very little her seeing her first magic act performed at a child’s birthday party it’s easy to see how that would influence her.  There really is something exciting when someone is able to do something that seems impossible before our eyes.

That she needs to overcome her initial wonder at her new situation is clearly evident but I have to wonder why she’s not being treated a little differently at the same time.  If I were in her shoes i’d be kind of pissed that I wasn’t being handled more like a newbie who needs instruction instead of someone that should know more than they do.  I can understand Miya’s position after last issue but it slightly unnerving to see her be so cold to those who haven’t experienced what she has yet.

As afraid as she is Cassidy has all the makings of a leader or someone who can help Miya see past what she does.  Her line of questioning should only serve to garner her more attention and then discussion so that both sides can be explored more fully.  While a good soldier follows orders she’s not a soldier she’s a teenager.  So the meeting of these two worlds should be interesting to see unfold before us. That J.T. is going the route he is I find extremely fascinating.  There really is so much potential here and you are never quite sure which route he’s going to take leaving me guessing which ensure my return next issue.

Also Alex pencils along with the inkers and colourists really been able to kind of elevate the story J.T.’s telling.  It’s so detailed and the colours in the wings and hair really  make them seem so beautiful and magical that at times you forget they are feared for what they can do and what they represent.  The attention to detail they are all bringing to this series is amazing to see.  Every now and then I get this Phil Jimenez vibe from it and it makes me smile that this kind of realism and care is being putting into this.

That the soldiers chasing Cassidy and Miya’s tribe as well are unconcerned about borders or global positioning should be worrisome.  Just because they are who they are doesn’t mean they have carte blanche to operate anywhere in the world.  It makes me slightly angry that this is how the U.S. operates and how we’re seen by other countries.  Still it’s not unrealistic so there’s always that and that they are so afraid of them makes me wonder as well.  Still the young man questioning them as well leaves hope for me.

What an incredible series that has been turning into.  Going past everything we’ve seen and forging it’s own way ahead while staying true to all things Soulfire this is a perfect series for longtime fans and new ones alike.  For those wondering about the Soulfire world this is a great place to start without feeling overwhelmed or like you are entering into the middle of something.  Here’s hoping that it can keep building, growing and being an impactful series.

Book of Death the Fall of X-O Manowar #1
Valiant Entertainment 2015
Written by Robert Venditti
Illustrated by Clayton Henry

The Book of the Geomancer was brought to the present by a young girl named Tama. The tome foretells a dark future for the Valiant Universe and speaks to the fates of many of its heroes. This is the story of the fall of X-O Manowar…

Actually this one is very different from the others and what I was expecting to see.  Got to hand it to Robert to make this a sweet ending and then the next generation X-O Manowar introduction be a smooth thing to witness.

The Vine and Trill have long been the bane of Aric’s existence.  Faith and anger sometimes go hand in hand to create something misplaced in one’s mind.  Trill has uncovered a powerful relic with which he plans on ending the usurper and reclaiming his people’s destiny.  It amazes me to see that Trill remains alive and kicking still in that time period though the Vine age differently and his own armour a variation of Aric’s looks good on him it’s still weird.

I was really surprised that by all the Fall of books this one was the most, tender of them all.  I like the whole father/son field trip to the museum where it’s claimed that under the river both Aric and his uncle King Alaric are buried side by side and we see him tell Aric’s story to his son.  This coincides with what’s happening currently with Trill and his associates entering the museum as well.  It does make you wonder who the father is though and how he’s so familiar with Aric’s history.  Is this someone who fought beside him at some point?  It’s interesting since Robert is making you think as well as enjoy the history this character has left behind him.

The final moments of Aric with his wife and daughter in Western Nebraska, the new Visigoth homeland, are tender and caring.  Quite the difference than how most of his life has been lived.  It’s kind of nice to see that he didn’t die fighting but as a loving husband, father and ruler of old age when he was ready to let go.  Now I don’t know how many children Aric and his wife had as we are introduced only to one, she who would his successor.  She who would rule after he’s gone and would also wear the armour that helped forge the man he’d become.

So there are events that transpire and it’s really a legacy that Aric leaves behind in more ways than you’d think.

I liked this for a myriad of reasons among them shows the X-O Manowar’s legacy will continue and have a far reaching impact upon the world.  Robert’s writing and characterization are wonderful and his approach to the story really blew me away.  The interior artwork here is solid, and has great sense of emotion to it.  The daughters suit differing from her father’s will hopefully be something we’ll see again.

An impressive one of showcasing the end of one of Valiant’s most recognizable characters.

Titans Hunt #1
DC Comics 2015
Written by Dan Abnett
Illustrated by Paulo Siqueira & Geraldo Borges
Coloured by Hi-Fi
Lettered by Carlos M. Mangual

Ever since the Crisis on Infinite Earths the original Titans history has been decimated time and again and with many characters missing in the New 52 it seemed that it wouldn’t get fixed anytime soon.  For it’s time the book was revolutionary in bringing kid sidekicks together and making them individual characters that stood out from their adult counterparts.  Along the way they also introduced us to many new creations and made kids of colour play important roles in what looked like the new regime.

When Wolfman and Perez revamped the Titans and left out much of their past members longtime fans were treated to something new but always longed for the inclusion of the.  Here now DC has decided it’s time to bring the original team back and make the kids who started it all relevant again.  Dan Abnett is an excellent choice in this revival and he’s showing us why.

Opening with Roy Harper and showcasing his struggles with alcohol and addiction is a great nod to his past.  Even better was the clerk in the story being Gnarrk.  The writing is fantastic here with elements of their forgotten pasts and interactions in play during the dialogue really is fun.  It’s like repressed memory coming to the forefront.  Plus the name of the shop Gnarrk is working at yeah it’s the little moments like that which showcase Dan’s talents.  Dick as Agent 37 finding an Atlantean and those residual memories also were just that incredible to see.  Though this version of Garth is angrier than i’ve seen before that does fit with with Atlantis’ view of surface dwellers in this new setting.

Donna’s intro is a bit more mysterious as is the abandoned waterfront building she’s in front of as if waiting for someone to arrive or that this place holds a special meaning she can’t quite grasp.  Mal and Karen thank goodness are still married, though please tell me she was Bumblebee because she’s too important a character not to have been who she was.  A young black woman with her intelligence who created her suit and weaponry to be heroine yeah we need her.  Though I do love the whole Mal writes a score that wins an award presented by Buddy Baker it keeps his roots true as well.

When we finally see Lilith it’s like everything clicks into place.  She’s kind of a blend between her original precognitive self that asked to join the Titans and Omen the character she would evolve into.  Much more interesting is that she alone among them remembers that there was a Titans before the current team.  It’s not a hard summation to say that there was one villain who forced Lilith’s hand to wipe the teams memories of each other and their time together and that it’s back.  That Lilith, now a psychiatrist, has files on the team members in her office makes me think of Martian Manhunter in JLA Year One or Batman helps make her an even more valuable and stronger member than she was.

Paulo, Geraldo and the folks at Hi-Fi make the perfect team bring this series to life.  It’s clean, crisp and extremely detailed in all the best ways.  It’s really the kind of artwork that this series needs.

This has everything that’s needed to bring the Original Titans, sans Kid Flash, back and bridge a gap for longtime fans feeling let down by the all recent shake ups at DC.  There’s also a part of me that hopes should this be as well received as I hope it is that they’ll be a regular series book come out, forget placing it in the present tell it from the team’s inception to when the were disbanded and forced to forget about each other.

For me this is off to a phenomenal start and it promises to be a new different version of the classic I am so fond of.

Deep Space Tragedy #1 (of 4)
Cosmic Times 2015
Written, Illustrated, Lettered & Cover by Mike Wagganer
Coloured by Moisely Fernandez

Teenage (?) rock ‘n roll robots in outer space.  Okay so the robots seem more sentient than not so there’s an evolution here that may or may not be explored.  The bots are more than a band apparently they have a destiny, one which by the end of the issue they are going to confront whether they are ready or not.  So a kind of growing up or growing into something more kind of story that’s cool.

I like the interior artwork here it’s very fitting for this almost all-ages science fiction adventure.  It’s vibrant, vivid and the humanoid robot’s really have the right style to be engaging.  Plus the buildings and such that they live in yeah it’s kind of like what you’d imagine it would as a kid or a high end cartoon version that’s familiar and yet just weird enough to make it plausible.

I found the interaction between the characters amusing.  The eternal question do robots dream is played out again here.  Still these guys have very distinct personalities and that we see them talking about the dream of one and what to do about it was kind of cool.  I like the blend of human traits along with the traditional robot thinking here Mike really found a way to make this stand out and be unique.  See Jerrick’s been having the same dream and it doesn’t end well, he’s falling and then everything explodes.

So what’s the story really about?  Sure we can have fun seeing this trio of bandmates bringing joy to some fans but that wouldn’t really story worthy in itself.   So cut to a little bot who is a major fan of Deep Space Tragedy, the band’s name, as he receives a special gift.  We have no idea what it is but as he’s listening to the radio he gets more and more excited about heading to the concert with his buddy.  The lil guy is really fun and is extremely likable.

We do kind of get to meet the bad guy and learn about what the little guy got and the subsequent danger/trouble he’s about to be in.  So now there’s a mystery to be solved as to what it is and why it’s important and why ultimately it and everyone with it should be erased.

In the back alley after the show the lil guy shows Dom what arrived.  The plan is then to get the band to see it and take them off planet which I guess would be anyone’s dream had they lived there.  Only they are met with security/police/military style robots who try to take the artifact for themselves and in doing so cause a big problem.  This ties into Jerrick’s dreams and well it ends with him coming to a conclusion that his dreams weren’t dreams but more like prophecy.

It has this whole Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space thing happening, don’t start because I love that, and it mixes with Bolts and Blip to create this really fun idea.  This is a great offering if you want just to escape, have some fun and be entertained.  Nothing too heavy or angst ridden just old fashioned fun that’s sorely missing from today’s market!

Cognetic #1 (of 3)
Boon Studios 2015
Written by James Tynion IV
Illustrated by Eryk Donovan

Alright so we already knew it was going to be good cause well James is writing it but I didn’t know how good, weird, off the wall and all around engaging it would be.  From the opening and the argument two fishermen have regarding a dolphin, fish vs. mammal and we know the correct answer and so does one of them it’s clear this isn’t going to be anything close to normal.  Me I think normal is an overrated illusion anyway.

The way this story progresses is interesting.  We don’t really get a whole lot of why this is happening just that it is and that’s great.  This kind of writing piques the interest and keeps the reader coming back to find out what the heck is going on.  That it starts off with this great dialogue on a bus between an old man and a young man who just wants to be left alone well it’s actually extremely well crafted.

James has really made a name for himself since coming onto the scene and his work is among the best and brightest there is today.  Not afraid to shy away from the norm or explore variations of life and characters he pushes himself and the readers to places that are unexpected and continually enthrall them.  Often he showcases the variety of social life in his stories and this has made him one of the few to continually insert LGBT characters in such prominent roles and has garnered my support for his ability to use diversity in his stories.  Also that they just are and don’t have undue attention to it, see normal aspect of life, make him on the progressive men in the field.

When we meet Annie she’s awoken in a hotel room and it’s a phone conversation she’s having with appears to be her husband.  After all she has a daughter and is being “my wife” a lot in that conversation.  Annie is an FBI agent and she’s in New York on assignment and as the ramifications of what the events that transpired on the bus start to mix with her and coworkers and what they are there for well it becomes something else.

Ah the Empire State Building always something interesting happening there.  Be it a love in bloom or something tragic and unexpected.  Well what happens is weird but fascinating I mean there’s some kind of hive mind mentality that is spread throughout these people that take away their individuality.  We don’t know why or how it started but it’s here and draws Annie’s boss and her into it.  Kind of like this was meant to happen here and now.

So when Annie’s family doesn’t listen to her warning and she abandons her boss she is seen taking matters into her own hands.  What happens next well hell you gotta read the book because i’ve got news for ya this is the kind of stuff that’ll envelope you.

Eryk and Juan Manuel work really well together here.  Eryk has a great understanding of what James is trying to convey and brings that to the page exceptionally well.  Helps when you’ve worked together before I know so the synergy they have is incredible.  The style here is his own and not really like anything else i’m seeing which again is wonderful to see and it adds this certain something to the book.  The use of pages, panel layout to continue the story is great and as many dramatic moments happen some subtle ones are there as well.  Plus anytime someone uses backgrounds and does that successfully i’m a fan.

This isn’t normal, there’s that word again, and that’s perfect.  It seems like there’s this big idea here and we’re getting to watch it unfold and we’ve no real clue as to how that’ll happen.  That’s the best kind of reading!

The Steam Man #1
Dark Horse Comics 2015
Story by Joe R. Lansdale
Written by Mark Alan Miller
Illustrated by Piotr Kowalski
Coloured by Kelly Fitzpatrick
Lettered by Nate Piekos

I wasn’t quite sure what this was going to be, my first thought was is it a take on the Tin Man?  Well as from that as it gets as it turned out.  No it’s the year 1899 and the Steam Man well it’s a walking fortified construct built to deal with the world’s current problem.  So basically a giant kind of steampunk humanoid tank/battleship.  That in itself makes it incredibly interesting and unique and that it’s set in this era is all the more fun.  Yeah I mean steampunk only truly works when it’s in the past and in the west for some reason so this fits the bill.  Only there’s one more element here okay actually two but it’s really just the one by the end of the issue.

Piotr is illustrating this story and I’ve come to love what he does and this is no exception.  With Kelly colouring it we get some magnificent imagery.  From snow topped trees to unusual creatures, the Steam Man itself as well as moments like when they depart the structure that well has a whole slew of humour all it’s own.  There’s great power in the illustration that really captures the imagination and flesh out the story being told.

I was a little surprised by all the swearing in this book but then again the crew of the Steam Man are four men and well cramped into tight quarters like on a submarine they are bound to use that kind of language.  Sure it’s colourful and for the setting a little off putting but heck roll with it.  I do like the diversity of these characters and the intelligence of each and how they banter back and forth.  The discussion right off the bat kind of demonstrates not only how familiar with each other but a lot about their personalities. Mark does an extremely good getting us to know these men.

Why would someone build such a thing as the Steam Man?  We learn the answer to that and more.  While we don’t get to learn everyone’s motivations for doing what they are we learn enough about one man and he’s the man who built and runs the crew of the Steam Man, William Beadle or Captain.  Reading this really does remind you of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea or H.G. Wells in it’s scope, content and vision.  That makes it akin to a classic already, albeit one with a lot more frank language and since it’s dark horse there shouldn’t be any nudity just a lot of talk about balls and such.  Seriously though this and will be like nothing you would expect it to be and that makes it more than worth your time.

I want to talk about certain aspects of this now but I’ll wait till next month so that you can read this issue, be surprised and thrilled by what I’ve seen here and then we can talk about how this all works like it does on so many levels.  The creativity, imagination and sheer audacity behind a story of this magnitude is what makes me giddy for the medium.  It’s the kind of project too that gets optioned for movie rights down the road.  I’m calling it here folks just remember that if we see it on the big screen.

Bold, daring and full of the unexpected blended together in the most unique way possible this story will be the one you talk about for days after.

Trancers #1 (of 3)
Action Lab: Danger Zone/Full Moon Features 2015
Written by Justin Gray & Jimmy Palmiotti
Illustrated by Marcelo Salaza
Coloured by Marcio Freire

Alright it seems like a lot classics or cult classics if you will are being brought back for another go-round.  I vaguely remember the movie myself so for me this was fun and let’s face it I’ll always read whatever these two collaborate to write.  Unfortunately this is only a three issue limited series but who knows maybe what’ll happen down the line.  What I do know is that this lends itself nicely to the comics medium, we’ve got time travel, zombies and action thriller happening.

I rather enjoyed that this issue focused on Jack Deth and Martin Whistler and their history together.  It really sets up the motivation behind the chase and it’s importance.  There is some stunning characterization happening here as you really get into the mind of Jack and you feel his anger and emotions and why he’s the way he is.

Marcelo and Marcio do a really nice job as well in making this future dark and dreary.  With the narration and the story itself this point in time and how Earth is described they really nailed the mood on the head.  Gritty, a little menacing and extremely violent it really is a great setting they’ve created for this story.

We get a lot of background information about the world they live in and how it’s run.  We also get this great sense of drama in how it all unfolds.  That Jack thought he had taken care of Whistler and then left the force feeling content and able to move on with his life after dealing with the man who killed his wife and partner.  That Whistler has more tricks up his sleeve and has managed to survive and take the council’s work and use it to his advantage in the way we see here has all the requirements for that all-time classic villain.

So we learn how the movie takes place here right by going back in time and seeing Jack trying to take on, or in his case take out Whistler.  Everything is in place here for one heck of an exciting story.

There was an unexpected depth to the story that was missing in the original movie.  Given this platform and the amount and quality of the storytelling we get so much more that it actually makes me look at the movie in a whole different light.  For me to say that should demonstrate the power of these guys ability to write.  They’ve taken something a bit on the cheesy side and made it into something much stronger and that I am appreciative of.

Sunflower #2
451 Media 2015
Created & Written by Mark Mallouk
Adapted by Andi Ewington
Illustrated by Lee Carter
Coloured by Lee Carter & Eugenio Perez Jr.

This is the second offering from 451 Media that i’ve read and it makes me excited to see another new company trying to find a niche in the industry without relying on capes and powers.  So from my point of view this is a story about revenge and redemption through one woman’s journey to reclaim her life and her daughter.  It has all the makings of this powerful gripping tale that sucks you in, tugs at your heartstrings and reveals your greatest fear, being helpless.

We open with a narration about CJ.  See she hasn’t left her property once in ten  years.  Her mother comes and it looks like she’s dropping off the monthly groceries and as they talk we get the picture of what’s happened.  Her husband murdered and daughter missing presumed dead has scarred her for life and made her afraid of living.  Grief it’s a powerful thing and it can all consuming and leave you crippled if you let it.

Lee and Eugenio do some marvelous work here.  I’m assuming we see the full page shot of her husband found in the road with the police there.  It’s hauntingly realistic.  Actually everything they put on these pages seems almost strategic and help flesh out the story in these subtle and important ways.  From a child’s drawings on the fridge to CJ without makeup or caring for her appearance to later on when we see other characters introduced and what they do and what they say.

While her mother’s still there CJ gets a postcard in the mail and it’s the fomentation of the journey she’s going to take.  We know who took her family away, one Rush Bridge.  What we aren’t privy to is just how powerful he truly is.  As CJ goes on her newfound mission to find her Sunflower and travels to the town Bridge lives in well you quickly learn that if you ask too many questions you’ll be shut out.  This town is seemingly afraid of this man, businesses will close on you or refuse you service he’s that feared.  Heck even the police seem to go out of their way to be less than helpful where he’s concerned.

I like this story from everything we see there’s this fear permeating everything.  It leaves you almost tense but captivated.  No one wants to be seen helping her and she won’t leave so with no training of any kind she’s got to play detective, hero and avenger.  I’m eagerly awaiting to see more of her journey and how it changes her even more.  She’ll never gain the spark she once had and she’s lost ten years with her daughter but now the lioness going after cub has been awakened.  There’s hope in her sights for the first time in a decade and that’s a powerful thing.

There’s so much emotion in this issue with the writing, adapting, characterization and the interior artwork that you get easily swept up in CJ’s story.  It’s great to see such an intelligent and emotionally charged story being told this way.  I love that this medium can be used to tell these stories.

Fistful of Blood #1
IDW Publishing 2015
Written & Illustrated by Kevin Eastman & Simon Bisley
Coloured by Tomi Varga

First of all I have to admit I love Simon, he’s one of those guys I can hangout, drink and just have a good time with, so with him on this I was already in.  Then add Kevin who is best known for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and well this was going to be seriously good.  I mean look up Eastman and see what else he’s done if you don’t know these two make a great fit! Even after reading the issue I was kind of blown away by it and it took me a few minutes to gather my thoughts.  Do not go into this if you are easily offended, or think that it will be like anything else they’ve done.

The opening is fantastic.  Stumbling out of the desert into this run down old town comes a woman.  Mesh bra and panties and that’s it my friends,  It’s completely Simon here my friends and it’s definitely eye catching.  She passes out most likely from traveling through the desert sun and heat and is found by a few locals who take her to the saloon.  Here it’s a bit odd we know what they are going to do that much is obvious but there’s also the writing which makes you take pause.  Suddenly this isn’t what it appears to be and yet it’s exactly that.

Does our well endowed, yes she’d Dolly a run for her money, have a name?  If so we aren’t gonna learn it anytime soon and ya know what i’m perfectly okay with that.  What we do see from her is enough to know you shouldn’t mess with her.  Also thanks the writing there really is something else about her we’re not privy to right now.  After her initial encounter with some locals she meets another.

An old timer who has lived here all his life.  If there’s something odd or off about him well it could be any number of things really but i’m holding judgment because I don’t think i’m right about him.  Still he runs the hotel kind of befriends her and finds her some clothing from the lost and found box.  He’s an eccentric old bird and her physique isn’t lost on him but it’s like interest from someone ten stages past being able to do anything with it.  He kind of has this look of the old mad scientist type and his glasses well they help with that too.  God I love the way all this looks visually it’s not politically correct in all the best ways.

So the old man gives her and by extension us a lowdown on the town’s history.  Including kind of where the book gets it name from.  There is a very important detail he leaves out though and soon enough we kind of see what that is.  One of the men from the Saloon yeah he’s back with some friends only he’s here to make a deal.  Seems they have some rivals and they’d like her to join up with them hire her if you will to help em out.

Well I’ll admit I love this little old guy and whoever or whatever he ends up being I do hope he’ll sticking around as her unofficial guide/friend.  She’s not going anywhere and we’ve seen enough of what she’s seen to know that this place is kind of where she’s supposed to be right now.  I look forward to learning why alongside everyone else too.

This was a blast for me.  She’s as deadly as she stacked and ya know the way this story is told, perceived by me and definitely delivered it’s one I can appreciate on a lot of levels.  Read the afterward for more detailed look in this series, what it’s about and how it came to be from Kevin you’ll be happy ya did.

This remastered edition is perfect for folks like me who missed it the first time around and has added material for those already in the know!
