SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2018: HOW ANYONE CAN IDENTIFY A VALUABLE COMIC BOOK
Chicago, IL - July 12, 2018 - Key Collector Comics is a free mobile app focused exclusively on helping collectors of any experience level identify which comic books are key issues of value. Examples of a key issue include a character’s first appearance, an origin story, iconic cover art, a classic story or any milestone moment in comics that define a character or the universe in which they exist.
Over one million comic books have been published since the very first, standard comic book Famous Funnies No. 1 hit the shelves in 1934. Ninety-nine percent of all published comics resell for no more than cover price. The remaining one-percent could be worth anywhere from $10 or up to $2 million, which was the case this past June at an auction for Superman’s first appearance in Action Comics No. 1.
“There are plenty of valuable comics worth hundreds of dollars sitting in dollar bins, slipping through people’s fingers every day,” said owner of Key Collector Comics, Nick Coglianese. "But its like trying to find a needle in a haystack and Key Collector Comics is the world’s first resource that shows you all the needles with no hay.”
Chances are the retailers are too savvy at the San Diego Comic Con to let the holy grail of all comics to get past them but there are plenty of hidden gems just waiting to be found.
Now featured on Key Collector Comics are this year’s SDCC exclusives and which booths they can be purchased.
Launched in Oct 2017 at New York Comic Con, Key Collector Comics is the world’s first mobile resource to focus exclusively on milestone moments in comic book history, from the Golden Age to today. Key Collector Comics has been downloaded in 132 countries and has an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars in nearly one-thousand reviews on Google Play, Apple and Facebook.
