Image Comics: We Believe In Character
Comic artists don’t just translate scripts: they build characters. From choreographing the most subtle facial tics and body language to designing entire wardrobes, illustrators are master actors of ink on page. Giving shape to entire casts, they carve new souls on a monthly basis. The creators on this panel specialize in character design, from Leila del Duca's medieval romanticism on SLEEPLESS to Jeremy Haun’s rugged post-apocalyptic fantasy chic in THE REALM, and Tula Lotay’s fashion-forward covers. Come see these shapers discuss their process, including Annie Wu and Jen Bartel as they preview their upcoming Image projects, DEAD GUY FAN CLUB and BLACKBIRD.
Sunday, April 8, 2018 @ 10:45 – 11:45 AM in Room S403
Image Comics: We Believe In Drama
Writers channel the crises we face everyday through layers of fiction, allowing readers to dissect universal struggles through a vibrant, askew lens. Though comics may catalyze new worlds overflowing with imagination, creators ground that surrealism in drama and catharsis. Join a panel of stellar scribes including Kyle Higgins (THE DEAD HAND), Gerry Duggan (ANALOG), Tee Franklin (BINGO LOVE), Tini Howard (HACK/SLASH: RESURRECTION) and some very special guests as they discuss the friction that gave way to their latest works.
