He may not be a crook in this reality, who has time when your amidst a zombie apocalypse, but he’s been keeping his zombie brother with him. Kind of weird and creepy sure and this issue well that’s dealt with. Now i’m more than curious who that in the black traveling by motorcycle is. Be kind of interesting is he’s using his name and it’s who I think it is but that’s for another arc right now we’ve got to get back to New York city and the Flatiron building.
Ever since the food drop things have been relatively peaceful in the city. Sure they don’t need to cannibalize each other to eat. This lull is the perfect opportunity to tie up a few loose ends within this new merged group. Mark is pretty darn amazing when it comes to this series because it’s his baby and he’s been stringing us along to this point for quite some time now. Finally this is the issue we see the CDC reveal what they know about how the zombie virus was created and used, distributed and all that fun stuff that we need to know.
Wow okay kudos, a tip of the hat to you fine sir because this was well thought out. Reasonable and complete without anything to really say that’s not how it could’ve gone. I’m super impressed that we finally have a reason for a zombie uprising instead of just eluding to something biblical since no one can really explain. So people if you love zombies and some violence and an unexpected story that takes you around the world checking in on how everyone is dealing with this crisis while keeping you entertained and sometimes creeped out this is for you.
Another thing I really enjoyed about this issue was that after the film was done Alice finally got to talk to her would be mother-in-law about her lover, her son, and how he died. Not only that but how he lived as well it was a great chance for this to finally come out into the open and for them both to have this kind of closure and hopefully allow next to start the healing process with proper grief.
Ah that we’re also seeing that the Jungle Jim squad over in Nam is at full strength and kickin some major booty. I mean part of me wishes we were just getting the one guy wearing the helmet and it’s not even the original guy anymore so the legacy lives on and has evolved but still it’s cool and a little sad at the same time. Personal feelings there because the evolution is amazingly well done. We do get another area to visit as well during all this and that’s the warrior nuns so if they are still around and active I cannot wait to visit them because the idea alone screams out for more.
So when are we going to get the evolution of the zombie? If a man can lead them into battle and they still fire guns and wield spears than how long till some retain more intelligence? I love that Mark keeps this series fresh and shockingly interesting. He’s not afraid to go down avenues others haven’t or won’t and it keeps us coming back arc after arc for more. While mainstream might love the Walking Dead this for me is more original and has a grander scale to it.
