     Apocalypse in Pink!
Can Margo stop a sentient virus before it consumes the universe, and escape a time loop that always ends in her death? Margo and her crew face off with the deadly X15 in the conclusion of this mini-series. The universe will never be the same.

Okay so this series took me by complete surprise and when Jim asked to do some reviews on it I was happy to take a look. At first glance I had thought this wasn't for me, the artwork is reminiscent of old school indie books which depending on your taste can either be good or bad. So it took me a little ways into the book as I read the story to realise just how off the wall funny and irreverent this really is. I ended up loving this in ways I hadn't expected or anticipated. Before you even know it we are completely engaged in Margo and her life and we root, cheer and scream at her like she's that girl in a horror film heading towards the basement.

I really like the way that this is being told. The story & plot development that we see through how the sequence of events unfold as well as how the reader learns information is presented beautifully. The way that the story is easy to follow and how much this all feels like everything has this completely natural progression. The character development we see here is great as we start to see Margo's more than stacked she has some smarts to her as well and we keep seeing her evolution throughout the arc making her someone we want to know and see more of! The pacing we see here is fantastic and as it takes us through the pages revealing the twists and turns along the way we see how it works with everything else to create the books ebb & flow.

I love Margo and how she finds herself in situations and circumstances generally of her own making. She's loud, obnoxious and shows off a pair you wouldn't believe and she's really not all that great at what she does but she never gives up and shows some stellar determination and chutzpah which in the end is what she needs to make it through to see another day. Plus I love how we see her interact with others and how she worries about her mum as she does.

The interiors here are interesting to say the least. The linework is rally thick, strong and confident in how it's laid down. While I would like to see more variation in the linework the attention to detail we see is pretty gosh darn good. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a good solid eye for storytelling here. I like the way that we see depth perception, scale and the overall sense of size and scope we get here. The colour work is pretty solid as well. I like how we see the colour blocking and how it's utilised to show shading, highlights and shadow work.

I like how this issue ends and the idea that this is going to be a series of small arcs, presumably since this is only three issues right now. There is a creativity and imagination that is on display here that is marvellous and needs to be seen. It is one hell of an original concept and it's incredibly well executed and it's something you should be reading during all this crazy quarantine business.
