With the Lady in Paris and a new nanny things are looking up for the family. However nothing is really ever going to be normal for this family and now in Paris the city of love and art things are going to get more interesting than they bargained for!
I really liked this issue it’s got so much going for it and comes at us in this way that I wasn’t expecting. I loved the opening here and it’s a great opportunity for Ariela to show off some new skills we haven’t seen yet. With Jessica they really do this amazing rendition of the sculptures in a museum. The mix of the man admiring the work compared to statues really is a stand out moment and works beautifully with the words.
Alright from the opening to the ending i’m beginning to wonder if the two incidents are in fact intertwined or are two separate events. I love the way Marguerites brain works because if they are connected I can’t wait to see how she weaves them together and if they don’t then well i’m more impressed with everything they are going to have to face.
I love the interiors here the use of page layouts through angles, perspective and backgrounds not to mention that two page spread and all the various looks at the artwork we see. Ariela is one of today’s most talented and exciting artists and if you aren’t reading this then you really should consider it. The way the work flows through the pages makes for great reading from a visual standpoint and the way she can bring these characters to life and give them emotion and feeling is impressive.
This is an incredible series with strong unexpected female leads whose lives are not what you’d expect of them. With their lives in constant flux and their existence something of an ever changing series of threats Marguerite manages to thrill and entertain us. This series goes beyond any kind of expectations I have had for it and the unlimited possibilities that continually presented to us make this one of the best new series of 2016.
