Ash located the burned-out remains of Selwyn's SPINNER and the body of his chauffeur in a down-town slum, but before she could investigate further her cybernetic back brace malfunctioned and
she collapsed.  Meanwhile, Isobel and Cleo, both very much alive and free, desperately searched through the rain soaked city for a man called MALEK...

First and foremost this is a Detective story and I love that about this because it should be just that. What Mike² do here is really rather well thought out and executed from a story standpoint that is engaging, interesting and just beginning to really show off it's potential. The story & plot development and the character development that we see in play here is simply the beginning of something and so far I am incredibly intrigued to see what is in store for all these characters. The pacing takes everything we see and runs it through a blender and yet keeps it all moving forward. This is some heavy duty stuff we're getting here and by George this is a million times better than I could have hoped for.

With what we have seen thus far and what we've learned there is nothing about this that is what it seems and naturally the twists and turns that are both obvious and not so much so are going to be what keeps us coming back time and time again. What I really can't wait to see more of however is how Ash is going to find Isobel and Cleo while keeping what she is finding from the very people that supposed to be her superiors. We all know she's a rebel, without a cause, but in all honesty she also trusts her instincts and doesn't kowtow to anyone and that's something to really like and admire about her.

I like the way that we are introduced to the new characters. I know most of these are ones we'll probably never see again but on the other hand this network of individuals who use fake names and are helping Isobel and Cleo they are worth seeing again. Plus I like seeing Ash's street help I mean she's a smart cookie and knows both her limitations and the need for outside eyes. I think it's because of what happened to her once already with her brace but that's just my opinion.

I do like the interiors here. There is some really nice linework going on in these pages as we the varying weights being utilised to create some darn fine attention to detail here. Also I like how we see a softer tone to the work in the backgrounds so that they convey depth and let eye focus on the intended subject matter. There really is something about this that regardless if the colours are bold or not the linework all around is strong and steady, enchanting and overall a treat. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a stellar eye for storytelling. The colour work is beautifully done and I love seeing the various hues and tones for the colours to create shading and highlights.

I so digging this story and the world that is unfolding before us. The myriad of characters and where they appear from the lowest to the highest caste and the characterisation associated with them is what makes this as fantastic as it is. Titan really knows how to find the right folks and they know how to transform one franchise into a another and make it work as if it were always a separate entity.

Brian is getting nowhere with Sean. Despite their threats and their blows, the terrified young man keeps claiming he had nothing to do with the death of his daughter. So Brian asks his friend Ross to make a call. Which results in the arrival of a ruthless mob enforcer. Meanwhile, tensions flare between Ross and Earl. Worse, Brian's wife Vivian is not going to stay home and wait for him. She desperately needs to know what her husband is up to and begins looking for him. A decision that may lead to even more blood.

I love this pure and simple and the fact that despite the title of the book that the content is what it is fucking spectacular. (sorry I hate swearing but it fits) The opening here is brilliant as Brian's wife starts taking matters into her own hands. The way this is told is perfectly done and it shows this strength and determination only a grieving mother has. It's a great way to start off the issue that's for sure.

I get it Brian is a grieving father and he truly believes in heart that Sean is responsible for his daughters brutal murder. He is so sincere in this and all he wants is a confession outta the boy and now we have a new player showing up who well let's face it is a professional at this. His methods and his talents yeah they aren't going to jibe with what Brian has in mind for this. That the story & plot development and the character development that are utilised throughout the books structure is so incredibly well done. The pacing is on point as it picks up the developments and brings this to such a place that the reader can find themselves lost in what they see. The connection to the characters and finding those traits that they can relate to is here and so is going off script as you think of ways that things could or should be done and that's something to be enjoyed.

The characterisation is absolutely stellar and to see this quality and this level of talent and skill on display is incredible. All the emotions we see throughout this book are clear as crystal and it has this impact on the reader as we feel everything that they do and that kind of transfer is not at all common or what we should expect.

The interiors here are phenomenal. The linework is gorgeous and how the varying weights are utilised so that the attention to detail that we see is spectacular. The fact that the backgrounds have as much detail in them as do the main characters makes seeing this such a delight as they enhance the moments and bring a sense of size and scope to the story. The faces and facial expressions help to transfer those emotions they feel to the reader as they give us some of that extra characterisation that words alone cannot. How we see depth perception is so well rendered here. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a masterful eye for storytelling. The colour work is great. I like how we see light sources are utilised so that we see the shading and shadows. How we see colours with their tones and hues this way is fantastic, I can't tell if it's colour blocking or gradation and that's as good as it gets. Though Sean with no body hair really that's disappointing and no happy trail or even a bulge what's up with that?

The story is amazingly well told from top to bottom and side to side so much so that you feel like you are a part of it. I am really surprised at how easily and strongly it is to connect to this as well. This is one of those books that makes you wonder where the hell the creative came from? Why we've never seen them before? And now have found themselves on our must follow list of creators. Folks this is going to be one your new favourite books.

     "Cold Blooded": Part 2
This issue, as we learn the chilling origins of homicidal ice cream man Thomas Wright, Wright is in pursuit of his own stepson, with detective Benjamin Dunne hot on his murderous trail!

I had read three different versions of the first issue each one improving on the last, this issue however is the best of them all. The story feels tighter, ya know more together and this shows a growth in Bradley's work and I like that. He and John have a nice horror story going here and the way that they are going about building this story, this universe as seen with Sarah joining the hunt.
I really the opening here and seeing how Tommy was brought up. Of course Thomas as a Tommy learned from the best his Pops, who was his Uncle, who taught him everything he knew. What this actually does though is take the reader off page and has them speculating and the how, why and so much more of his upbringing. You all know how I talk about what I think of and what it means to be taken off script to make the readers' mind work past what they see on the page and that means it's damn good writing. So kudos the guys for this because seeing something of him backstory means we get a much better look at who and why he became the man he is.

The story & plot development alongside the character development that w are seeing here is pretty spectacularly done as the two go from single to joined and back again in some wonderful ways. Then there's the pacing which scoops everything up and moves it through the pages beautifully. I really am impressed with the writing this issue and if the trend keeps up then next issue should blow my socks off. Still I think that how we see the characters and how we see events unfold is something that raises the Hackles nicely as well as giving a sense of foreboding. While adding into all that is the wanton display we see here and it again makes me wonder how he can just kind of go public and ruin the facade he's created. Unless he plans to move on to a new city and start all over again.

The interiors here are really nicely done as well. I am a fan of the linework that we see here. How the varying weights are utilised to create the attention to detail are marvellous to see. The composition inside the panels is impressive and there are moments like on the top panel on page four that show off that skill perfectly. This is how you heighten the creep factor without having to show a single murder. So the utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a strong eye for storytelling. Also that we see backgrounds being utilised as they are brings me joy as they expand the moments and bring a sense of size and scope to the book. The colour work too is nicely handled. There are some very nice differentials in the colours so that light sources create shading and shadows using hues and tones extremely well.
While we could always use more backgrounds and I'd like to see more variations in the hues and tones of the colours being utilised just to make this pop a little more, because the house, a crime scene, with no backgrounds is a missed opportunity  and the colour of the blood was lacking any kind of a mix of reds to make it more realistic.

Overall I am enjoying this story a hell of a lot! Seeing some of Thomas' backstory helps flesh him out more and engages the reader perfectly. Then add in the detective and Sarah who are chasing him as it seems he's spiralling towards self-destruction and we've got some serious weirdness to look forward to. This is awesome and leave it to Antarctic Press to see the potential here.

Alec Brand has survived Xenomorphs and fought to become a Colonial Marine, an elite soldier. Out of nowhere, old wounds are reopened as Alec is shocked to find out about that Amanda Ripley and Zula Hendricks are both alive and they need his help.

One of my favourite franchises mainly because of Brian's writing. He takes us through people's lives as they experience the Xenomorphs and the subsequent aftermath. Because let's face it if you survive your experience you are forever drawn back into this world whether you want to be or not. It doesn't matter how long between the times you encounter them you will encounter them it's like a tied destiny thing. In some warped perverted way you are forever linked to them and to see this the way Brian brings it to us is spectacularly well done.

Well I do like that the A.I. On the ship in the opening is David though Alec wouldn't really remember him. Still seeing how he gets into the cryo sleep chamber was interesting and why is it that men get into those with more clothing on than women do? Regardless I do like what we see in the opening page and the kind of tension that it brings.

The way that this story is being told is sensational. The story & plot development and the character development that we see here as they weave in, around, through and move the story forward thanks to the pacing. The way this is told so that it fits into a four issue arc is well done though honestly I wouldn't mind six issues arcs to really flesh out the stories. Still I am fascinated by what we see this issue and while we don't really deal with the fact that they never told him they were alive it's okay, for now, as what we see is a hell of a lot more exciting.

I really am impressed with the way that we see this book move through it's pages. While the characterisation is solid there is still some underlying stuff here that will need to be addressed and maybe it's just me seeing something that's not there. Still the way we see and learn about the moon and the effect this is having on the planet well I do like to be thrown for loops and have everything I know scrunched up and tossed so that I get my knickers in a knot.

The interiors here are amazingly solid. How we see the linework here and how the different techniques in how they are utilised and then how the inking follows with their flourish of touches and techniques make this mesmerising and stunning work. The fact that we see so many backgrounds being utilised makes me so very happy. That we see such great depth perception here as well sets this apart from the normal fare. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show off a stellar eye for storytelling. The colour work too is marvellous. The way light sources are utilised with such consistency to showcase shading and shadows is extremely well done. Plus how colour blocking and how various hues and tones are utilised to show the variations is superb.

I love this it feels like we are getting a preview of the conflict to come. We learn why Alec, well superficially because I still think there's more to it than the girls are letting on. But it also reinforces my belief that once you encounter a Xenomorph you'll forever be linked. Whatever the case may be I absolutely love this franchise and what Dark Horse and 20th Century Fox are allowing the creators to o with the property.

Monster World: Golden Age #2

Story by Philip Kim

A half-conscious Hank Barrymore finds himself staring down the barrel of a shotgun at the Conway farm in Oklahoma. It's the only farm still standing in the entire town, which has been cursed by a bereaved mage named Rybach wielding two elemental demon dogs! The Conways' powerful adopted son, Cole, has managed to keep Rybach at bay, but with Hank showing up bearing news about Cole's real parentage, the farm -- and Hank with it -- could be doomed.

Oh I like this franchise a whole lot. I am also a fan that they only put out a few books so what they do release are absolutely fantastic series with the writing and artwork inside being that kind of top notch no holds barred goodness.

I really am loving the way that this story is being told. I mean Hank is no stranger to the world of monsters and whether he likes it or not once you become aware there's no turning back. It will find a way to you and you won't be able to escape it's grasp. So now Hank finds himself in the Oklahoma Panhandle at home of the Conway's and the barrel of a gun. So seriously now the way this opens up intrigues me because it ends up feeling a little too familiar if you know what I mean. Then things get shaken, not stirred, to the Nth degree and boy is this a doozy!

When this story gets rolling it's like a snowball down a mountain picking up speed and mass as it grows larger and goes faster. The story & plot development and the character development that we are seeing here is utterly phenomenal. Add in the way we see the pacing pick them up and launch them through the book at, in, around and through each other so that everything moves forward in such ways that it feels perfectly natural. Overall the way that we see this story play out is fantastic it has this rhythm to it where the ebb & flow carries the reader along. I like the twist that is introduced to the story though how this makes him fit into Monster World will need some explaining, Rybach on the other hand that's easy to see him as a a monster.

Oh Piotr your linework is impeccable as always and the attention to detail that he can bring out through the varying line weights is stupendous. That the man knows how to utilise backgrounds to enhance moments and bring a sense of size and scope to the book. So that the detail all around in what we see being equally done really is a stand out factor. The composition inside the panels and how we see depth perception by utilising the foreground and backgrounds is smartly done. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show off his stupendous eye for storytelling. Whether it is in black and white or colour the way we see light sources utilised to create shading and shadows is beautifully done. I like how the gradation effect feels with the colour blocking is rendered extremely well.

Oh there is so much here to absolutely adore in the writing and the artwork. The way the story has these twists and turns and takes you in directions that you don't expect is a highlight of the book for me. I mean I like the idea that Hank tells them about their sons origin or where he came from more accurately. Scratch that I mean theoretically when he comes from in a general sense so how he got here is another matter entirely and I look forward to seeing that explanation lol. Rybach and his motivation is loud and clear, he couldn't have been more descriptive in his reasoning and with what he now has well these ornamental objects well seeing how and when he got them is another thing I want to see.

Such a great story, series and franchise this is. You won't find this anywhere else and to be fair I'm glad because AGP is the perfect home for it.

Dead End Kids #2
Source Point Press 2019
Written by Frank Gogol
Illustrated by Nenad Cvitican
Lettered by Sean Rinehart

Things get worse as the kids come face-to-face with Ben's killer! And, as Murphy continues to take more drastic measures to avenge his friend, Tank and Amanda are faced with the question of how far are they willing to follow their friend down that dark path. Friendships are tested and broken, and that's not the worst of it as this breakout series from Frank Gogol, Nenad Civiticanin, and Sean Rinehart barrels toward its final chapter!

Well I will say this, Frank really has some damn fine writing chops. This is an excellent story that is well written and executed and far and away one of the strongest ways to make your mark in this industry. This isn't an updated version of some 80's style genre film where the kids overcome their fears this is more realistic in it's approach as well featuring kids who in some way shape and form are damaged. It is a sensational read if you haven't tried it yet then find out why it's been selling out before hitting stands.

The way this is being told is fabulous as the story & plot development and the character development really makes this special. The pacing is excellent and the way that it picks up the story, plot and characterisation and keeps them weaving in, out and around each other while moving the story forward is nice to see. The opening for this is interesting and powerful as we see from the kids point of view and to hear that and know this what they are thinking has to be a terrible burden to bear and explains why he's so cold and distant from these people who have taken him in.

I am surprised that we haven't been introduced to more characters yet but in a way it makes sense since this is really who the kids are focusing on. Heaven forbid they be wrong, I mean they are so certain they know which of course means they are barking up the wrong tree but hey live and learn right. Still I can't wait to see more folks in the sphere of influence be introduced.

The interiors are great! Nenad has a great hand and eye for storytelling and the way that we see the linework and how it's utilised to create some stellar attention to detail through the varying weights is joy to see. You see this and you see the figures in this one style and the clubhouse and the outdoors in a slightly different style to separate them and it works and it forms this gorgeous imagery. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a nice solid eye for storytelling. The way that backgrounds are utilised to expand the moments and show a sense of size and scope to the book is extremely well done. The colour work is subtle and wonderfully done. The tones, hues and various moments of true colour make moments pop and we also see how the light sources create the shading and shadows.

There is a lot of then and now storytelling going on here and it's freakin awesome. We see the kids and we see those moments there lives kind of chance irrevocably. These moment serve to really find ways for us to connect and bond with the characters and it works. Whether they are all going to survive this is up in the air but one thing is for sure and that's the emotional bonds we see between them and us. Source Point Press is proving they are moving up the ladder these days and saying hey we have some fine storytelling and creators here, and they do.

Two strangers find themselves inextricably tied together by inexplicable superpowers. Fighting their connection could mean destroying the world. 2 VOLUMES RELEASED - WORK IN 8 VOLUME(S). Opposites attract? Elakshi and Adam Land aren't married. In fact, a month ago, they were perfect strangers, dwelling in lands foreign to one another. But now, they're forced to remain by one another's side, for their separation could mean the planet's demise. Their greatest challenge is to stay together -- even if they have to tear the world apart to do so.

I really like this one because what the girls are doing with the characters. This isn't the kind of work in setting up our main characters that we expect and I think that's a genius move. What started off as a nice dance that lead to what could be a romance instead turned into a nightmare. There is something ab out this that I really enjoy it's kind of like Hawk & Dove in the current iteration. I like the intro page and I wholeheartedly support this and hope that we keep seeing this. It's beautifully done and catches the reader up to speed and allows a new reader to feel a part of this at any moment.

I am enjoying the way that this story is being told and how they've managed to structure the book. While we get to see a lot of what Elakshi was like growing up Adam does get his spotlight here and there and the way the story & plot development and the character development are intertwined and so essential to one another. Both are utilised extremely well and the fact that we get so much insight to Elakshi well it makes you wonder. I love being taken off script, when the writing and story are so good that your mind takes what you see and expands on it with what you know. I love seeing this here and it's only the second issue so I am officially excited for whatever may come.

The characterisation here is so good and when Elakshi admits to dropping out of med school this after seeing her childhood and learning that and what she desires well I question everything about her and her decisions.

The interiors here are really rather nice to see. The linework is thicker than we usually see and yet Guillermo's got a great strong hand and it works on so many levels for me. It is different, fresh and it has a beautiful effect and what more can you ask for than that? Oh yeah more backgrounds I can ask for that. There is some very nice attention to detail going on here as well. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a really nice eye for storytelling. Also the colour work is nice to see as well. I love how we get the past and while it's not rose coloured glasses it has this nice film over everything so it differentiates itself nicely.

I really like the way we see this story unfold and I gotta say there are some really good twists and turns that are going to cause a fair amount of trouble. The interaction between the characters and the consequences of what they can do make them a very unlikely duo which makes them even more interesting. I will have to wait on Adam being fleshed out some more before I come up with a more informed decision on him. For now though I'm content with this whole idea of a quitter trying to come up with a way to quit this as well. Oh yeah two issues in and I am all sorts of engaged and invested in this book.

Vampirella #02
Dynamite Entertainment 2019
Written by Christopher Priest
Illustrated by Ergün Gündüz
Lettered by Willie Schubert

Vampirella's struggle to deal with the complex emotional consequences of a major disaster caused by her enemies is exacerbated by an unexpected visit from her mother, Lilith, with whom Vampi has a complicated relationship. But has the Mother of All Vampires come to help or destroy her daughter? And will Vampirella's hapless therapist survive the encounter?

I am really intrigued by this story so far. Now whoever got me hooked on Vampirella I either want to punch or make out with, full tongue too. I love the character and seeing her and her origin all centring around Draculon and not being an undead creature, at least not as we understand things. Seeing a shrink with her life as it is well that's something I never thought we'd see and the fact he thinks what he does about her makes this much more intriguing. I mean after all does he think that because his belief is she's crazy going to save him from being a snack? Who knows but I am sure at some point we'll see.

I am a huge fan of the way Christopher is telling this story and the way the book is structured. The opening here is sensational and the way we see it all unfold is even better. The second to last panel of the opening is something hysterical to see and unexpected from her and yet makes perfect sense. Also I love Grit and the fact that we see him (?) adds this dimension to this that makes the reader thing and go off script. Why?, because it does make the reader think about how Grit manages to be around her and I think that Christopher does this throughout the book as the reader becomes engaged time and time again.

Oh my when she meets her and we see what we do it's sensual and almost erotic without being tacky. I like that she meets her and in the course of their thing we also get to meet the Nuns. Now these folks are crazy and I love them! The way that we are introduced to new characters in all this is so well orchestrated and it doesn't feel convenient or forced, out of place it has thing ring of normalcy to it as they happen as they should.

Ergün does some astounding work on the interiors here. The innovation in how he creates the page layouts is utterly fantastic. The linework that we see is perfectly done as the various weights are utilised to bring out this amazing attention to detail. Then add in the colour work and well this is nearly a friggin masterpiece. That dress she wears to speed dating yeah that's beyond. Now that Private Party business I was disappointed that we see nothing I mean that was some creative use of hiding everything especially peen or the dangling bits. It's high time we didn't feel the need to do that. The way that we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a superb eye for storytelling. The creativity and imagination on display here is incredible and how it all comes together from the layout through the linework and finally this sensational utilisation of the colour work make this more exciting than anyone bargained for.

I love that this is a narrative as Vampi is telling all of this to her shrink, covered in doctor patient confidentiality and all that. I am not sure if she really needs this or if it's something else that's bothering her and needs someone to talk about it with. Why not this man who doesn't believe anything that comes out of her mouth? The dichotomy between these two is essentially what makes this story as perfectly told as it is. I love this, I cannot get enough of this and I look forward to being excited beyond expectation upon seeing the cover in my local store.

Boston Metaphysical Society #2
Source Point Press 2019
Created & Written by Madeleine Holly-Rosing
Illustrated by Emily Hu

This second issue in the 6-issue mini-series continues the story of Samuel Hunter, Caitlin O'Sullivan and Granville Woods as they battle supernatural forces in late 1800s Boston. Harry Houdini brings Hunter to a secret group of some of the greatest minds of the century, where they are studying the supernatural entity known as "The Shifter". But elsewhere, something is murdering people in the streets! Can the Boston Metaphysical Society stop the slaughter?

This makes me happy, happy that Source Point Press found this and picked it up to take from a web comic and into a physical one as well for the creators who did this in the first place. I am a huge alternate history fan and when you throw these members of B.E.T.H. together, add in the supernatural with the science and go that step further with Samuel and his team you create something new, original and full of verve. Seeing this, the title alone, is coming out makes me excited because it's something that is too good to miss and the feelings and emotions you get as a reader are immeasurable.

The opening here is perfectly done. It has the perfect anonymity behind who or what is behind the deed we see. It evokes wonder, as in what is going on, and the desire to see and know more. The emotions and feelings that come off the page and enter the reader almost give you chills as the scene unfolds. This is how you do a one page opening with no narration or words and have that be more effective than you'll ever know.

I love the way that this story is being told as the story & plot development and the character development are tied so closely together. Attitude and arrogance alongside a very strong class conflict that is permeating this book and it's foil in Samuel and his belief in his team brings this dimension to the storytelling that that I find all too familiar and as original that we don't normally see. History is rife with the haves and the have nots and the struggle between them but the way that Madeleine is portraying it is simply dynamic. With the pacing always moving the story forward at the right rate is something to be admired as well.

Emily, Gloria and Fahriza do some beautiful work on the interiors here. I love the linework and how we see these almost delicate lines that form this gorgeous attention to detail. Samuels scar is consistent throughout and that attention the character is perfectly done, along with other simple things that stand out but at the same time are easy to overlook, the make this a pleasure to see visually. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a strong talented eye for storytelling. I like the colour work as well. From the faded look of those in the distance to the vibrancy of the colours up close are done so well that we get this great depth perception. The way that light sources are utilised to create the shading and shadows is beautifully done. The various hues and tones in the colours really do make people, objects and places come to life.

There is something about the way that we see the story and how each individual will connect with it and find things that are specific to them in the bonding process is amazingly well handled. As you become engaged in the story as gadgets and gizmo's are introduced and the mind goes off page and tries to realistically understand their technology you are past the point of being invested in the book. This is this wondrous utilisation of creativity and imagination all around this book in the writing and the interiors so that by the last page you want more.

This for me is like watching Taboo or the Alienist on television it as that sense and feel to it and I can't get enough to satisfy my curiosity.

The story focuses on Deacon Price, an emotionally broken underwater archaeologist who charters an expedition, under false pretences, to a downed Soviet submarine that's been missing for decades. What he and his crew find there will not only put their lives at risk, but also the lives of everyone they've ever known! The story gets progressively darker, more intense and horrifying as it goes along, leading to a gory and harrowing conclusion.

I am thoroughly enjoying this series. Now Michael has added his own personal drama into this as last issue showed us the couple that would be working together who broke up after the death of their daughter. Being the best of the best in their fields and needing her on this mission was going to be difficult for the pair but when you need the best you have to put personal feelings and history aside. At first I was weary of this angle and felt it might be a little too familiar and adds an unnecessary part of the story. Then of course he goes proves me wrong with this issue and I almost feel as if I have egg on my face but what we see here is perfectly done that I see exactly why he has added everything he has here.

The way that this story is being told and how this is structured is incredible to see. The story & plot development and the character development have this underlying strength to them that I wasn't quite expecting to see. What that means is that while reading the book your mind wanders through the readers' memory and I engaged in such a way that you don't realise that nothing you will come up with be what Michael has in store. The way that he is able to fuse the story & plot with the character development as the pacing moves everything forward is really something extraordinary.

Then there is the characterisation that we are seeing here. I love how we see the attention to each individual is being presented. The way they are fleshed out and how they know each other so the dialogue and banter that we see feels normal and natural even with that underlying tension. So in effect it feels as if we are joining them in their established lives which gives the reader this feeling of familiarity.

The interior artwork here is sensational as well. I like the lilnework that we are seeing and how the varying weights are utilised to create some really great attention to detail. That this has a very classic comic book feel and yet the detailing and the way the linework and highlighting are utilised makes this feel elevated above regular. While there could be more work done to showcase they are underwater we can let that go since most of this is seen on the inside of the vessels. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a rather good, solid eye for storytelling. Backgrounds are utilised nicely and by fleshing out the ships we get that feeling of being enclosed which is essential in this type of story. They do enhance the moments and bring a sense of size and scope to the story. The colour work is all kinds of fabulous. From the muted tones of the metals in the ships to the highlights on the masks and even how we see the shading on the faces is sensational work. Personally I really like seeing the various hues and tones within the colours to showcase the shading and shadows.

This creative team manages to beautifully create the right amount of tension and anxiety in the reader so that when we finally see the creepy bits it's a real shook moment. Building up to that wasn't easy to do but it's done with aplomb. The creativity and imagination we see from the writing and the artwork here really help the readers' own imagination to be ignited and become a part of the story. So it has been way too long since the Ocean has been the scene for a modern day horror story and it's about damn time it became one again! People this is the epitome of modern storytelling it just happens to be a tale of terror under the ocean's depths.
