PORTLAND, OR., Mar. 16, 2018--Oni Press is excited to announce that, for the first time in five years, a new Wet Moon book from celebrated writer, artist, and Eisner Award Special Recognition nominee Sophie Campbell will be released. Wet Moon Book 7: Morning Cold, the final volume of the critically-acclaimed series, is slated for release November 14, 2018.

Trilby is finally out of the hospital, but she feels anything but ready to face daily life again. Even though Myrtle is in prison and Trilby is safe, everything is different and nothing feels right. Cleo, Mara, Audrey, and Martin struggle to support Trilby, but will it ever be enough? Things don't seem like they'll ever be the same again, and everyone must pick up the pieces and figure out where their lives are going.
"I've been working on Wet Moon since 2004, so volume 7 being the last book feels really strange for me,” said Sophie Campbell. “It doesn't quite seem real, so I'm having trouble even coming up with something to say about it. It's definitely exciting, but since these characters are my babies it's also a little bittersweet that I'm finally moving on after over ten years. I think I'm too close to the series to say whether volume 7 is a good ending or not, maybe it's terrible, maybe it's perfect (or both?!), but I feel really strongly about the book, so that's what matters at the end of the day. It's a great feeling getting to wrap up a story on your own terms, good or bad. Even though volume 7 is the ending to this story, I can see myself picking Wet Moon back up in the future, maybe revisiting the characters in their 30s or something like that. Oh my god, maybe a story about Penny's daughter grown up and she visits Aunt Cleo and Aunt Trilby?! I better start outlining that."

Praise for Wet Moon
“Wet Moon was life-altering for me! Sophie Campbell is one of a kind, my biggest inspiration in comics.” -Amy Reeder, Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur, Batwoman
“It offers us a refreshing and candid look at sexual awakening, gender identity and the thousands of other questions and doubts that plague the teenage mind.” - Doomrocket
"It’s a quirky, body-positive slice of life comic about goths, friendship, sex, gender identity, and the creepy power of the small-town Deep South." - Book Riot

ST. LOUIS, MO—Just under six months since Hurricane Maria plowed through Puerto Rico with a destructive force that left island residents desperate for survival or forced to flee to the U.S. mainland, the island is still struggling to rebound. Today, the St. Louis publisher announces their commitment to relief efforts in a partnership with United Way of Puerto Rico, in conjunction with the release of Puerto Rico Strong, a comics anthology from some of today’s top talent!

All Lion Forge profits from the sales of Puerto Rico Strong will go to the Early Childhood Relief program. These specific initiatives in Puerto Rico to help the children and families and provide hope include:

  • Early Childhood Centers: Creation of Reading Corners
  • Early Childhood Centers: Psychological Support for traumatic stress after a natural disaster
  • Early Childhood Centers: Re-establishment of non-profit childcare facilities (Furniture, Materials, Equipment, Structure)
  • Community Schools and Health Care Centers

In addition, Lion Forge will match $25,000 of all profits from the sales of Puerto Rico Strong, and Diamond Comic Distributors will donate 5 percent of retail sales to United Way of Puerto Rico.

“When a particular area of the world is struggling, it is everyone’s responsibility to find ways to help,” says Lion Forge founder David Steward II. “We at Lion Forge are always looking for ways to bolster diversity of content and creators, and we thought the best way to help the people of Puerto Rico would be to highlight some of the unique voices in our industry with a deep connection to Puerto Rican heritage. We are donating 100 percent of the book’s profits to the ongoing relief efforts, in addition to matching the first $25,000 raised.”

“We’re grateful to Lion Forge for their efforts to give back to Puerto Rico and help as so many people begin to rebuild their lives,” said Orv Kimbrough, president and CEO of United Way of Greater St. Louis. “It’s inspiring to see communities and sectors step up to make a positive difference, and this is exactly what the comic book industry is doing with Puerto Rico Strong.”

“Lion Forge has found a great way for the comic book community to aid a very worthy cause, and we are happy to follow their lead on making something positive happen for Puerto Rico,” says Diamond President and CEO Steve Geppi.

Puerto Rico Strong is a comics anthology that explores what it means to be Puerto Rican and the diversity that exists within that concept, from today’s most exciting Puerto Rican comics creators. All profits will go toward disaster relief and recovery programs to support Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico Strong is co-edited by Lion Forge’s own Desiree Rodriguez and Hazel Newlevant, alongside Marco Lopez, Neil Schwartz, and Derek Ruiz.

Puerto Rico Strong features art and writing by Rosa Colón (Soda Pop Comics), Vita Ayala (Bitch Planet), Naomi Franquiz (Misfit City), Javier Cruz Winnik (A Reason to Smile!), Sabrina Cintron (La Borinquena), Tristan Tarwater (Hen & Chick), Fabian Nicieza (co-creator of Deadpool), Joamette Gil (Power & Magic), and many more!

Puerto Rico Strong was released yesterday at finer comic shops everywhere, with profits going directly to those in need.

Bruce Lee Hits the Streets in Darby Pop Publishing’s all-new Bruce Lee: The Walk of the Dragon

– Don’t miss the return of the Dragon on March 28, 2018 –

Los Angeles, CA (March 6th, 2018) – Bruce Lee: The Walk of the Dragon, an all-new, all-ages, full-color comic adventure, releases as a “one shot” on March 28, 2018 courtesy of Darby Pop Publishing. The self-contained story lives in the same continuity as the hugely successful Bruce Lee: The Dragon Rises, but shines even more of a spotlight on one of history’s few real-life superheroes. This special issue was written by animation superstar Nicole Dubuc (My Little Pony, Star Wars: Rebels, Transformers: Rescue Bots). Interior art is once again courtesy of Brandon McKinney with a cover from John Haun.

“We truly believe that Bruce Lee: The Walk of the Dragon both honors the memory and continues the work of this multi-faceted man – actor, philosopher, teacher and, of course, supreme martial artist,” said Jeff Kline, founder of Darby Pop Publishing. Kline is also the title’s co-creator, having teamed up with Bruce’s daughter, Shannon Lee.

Story Synopsis: Philosopher/teacher/real-life superhero Bruce Lee is back. And, let’s be honest, the world needs him now more than ever. Taking a brief respite from battling an otherworldly evil, Bruce attempts to navigate modern-day Southern California despite still suffering from amnesia and having been “out of the loop” for over 45 years. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a simple “lunch run” soon turns into a comedy of errors involving mistaken identity, a Film Festival, and the pokey. And despite never being one to initiate fisticuffs, Bruce continues to find it difficult to both hide his martial arts skills… and keep his shirt on.

All told in a single-issue format that requires no prior knowledge, and reaches its own satisfying conclusion.

Here’s just some of what Shannon Lee had to say about Bruce Lee: The Walk of the Dragon:

  • “It’s long been a dream of mine to introduce my father and his amazing legacy of action and philosophy to a whole new generation, and a comic book is a super fun way to do that."

  • "My father and the way he lived his life have been a daily inspiration for me, and I’ve dedicated a big part of my life to finding ways to keep his message alive in the world. I hope you enjoy our book and develop your own passion for Bruce Lee and his phenomenal legacy of courageous action!"
About Darby Pop Publishing

Four years and nearly one hundred releases later, Darby Pop Publishing continues to be a creator-owned labor of love.
