TRINE HAMPSTEAD knows everything. No mystery is too small or too weird for London’s premier sidewalk detective—and she truly knows it all, from your most personal secrets to the details of the deepest, most incredible conspiracies. The only thing Trine doesn’t know is how she knows everything.
There really is something about Paul and the way he writes a story that is pretty amazing. Take Trine for example in the tube going to set up shop and listening to what people say it's subtle powerful and you know telling. It's just a small gland in to what she goes through on a daily basis that kind of flashes her character out even more in a way that you don't expect but appreciate. It it's really one of those unexpected pleasurable the lights that Paul throws to his stories. It's also pretty interesting that she can't help but focus in on at least one person on the tube to actually help out with her gift.
I really like that Trine actually has people in her life by Kelsey that care about her and want to be with her and don't want her to go through something alone. This trip to Russia that she's taking tomorrow could be dangerous and unknown but exciting for her and she just wants to revel in it while everyone else around her want to protect her. It's of these kind of friendships and relationships that most people only wish they had and Trine as well taking a little bit for granted. Don't get me wrong I understand why she wants to go alone but really Russia by herself not a smart move. Plus this whole mammoth expedition is a little on the shady side to begin with even if it is exciting.
What is it about Sasha that we love so much? The stripper with a heart of gold who desperately wants to fall in love possibly. Her friendship with Trine really is surprising, cute, fun and leads us to see how her power or gift to whatever you want to call it is really able to influence and benefit her and make me believe that she can go to Russia alone. Seriously though I mean we love Sasha and not just because we see her tits all the time either she's just a breath of fresh air and her optimism is almost infectious.
Linford he is a very accomplished killer and assassin and whatever else you want to call him but he's also one of the more fascinating kind of characters we've seen in comics. He enjoys what he does he picks out of target because it's interesting or fun for him and goes about it in a unique and fascinating way. His methods are really is quite good and his way of going about things is pretty meticulous and now that he's met trying he's going to look into her past and he might possibly figure out how her ability of work. This would be the biggest story changer that I think we'd see.
At the story continues and the players keep playing that parts on the story unfolds and we see everybody in action you start to get a bigger sense of what's going on and yet you're still completely lost. I have no idea what is so important about this woolly mammoth find that everyone is in an uproar about but I'm fascinated nonetheless. Paul has woven a unique and fascinating story here that keeps us coming back because we need to figure out how it all is put together.
Alberto and Marissa do such and it's phenomenal job on the interior artwork hear that it all comes to life so beautifully. The attention to detail the use of pages & panels out the backgrounds you name it everything conspires to really bring the reader into the settings. It's like everything is done so you get the maximum effect of emotion and intent you possibly can. Plus I just love that each person has their own distinct look dial and personality that shines off the page.
Interesting, mysterious, quirky and just plain fun this is the kind of story that we love dark horse for.
