Now while i’m not sure why a plane is dropping something from the sky in Western Nigeria but from the bottom on if it can’t be good. So why drop it gently and is this some new biological weapon? Guess now that our curiosity has been piqued we’ll have to come back and find out won’t we. Nicely done.
Then we go to Dr. Jadas Riezner and at first I thought hmm a flashback but read and you’ll understand. I do like this though because it’s cute and not what you expect as the girl he’s with starts quoting Tea for Two not knowing where she’d heard it from. It’s these little things that stick with you as a reader it may not seem like much but it’s like the hook of a song it’s get to you whether you realize it or not. Though at some point you begin to see what’s really happening here and then your own understanding perks things up.
Jadas wakes up after having been drugged last issue in that underground lab where they are trying to readjust his memories. Yeah all of a sudden everything about last issue comes flooding back through your own memories and you get a slight adrenaline rush as he runs down a darkened corridor. However before he can even make it home and try to collect his thoughts there’s cops at his building waiting to bring him in to talk about a break-in elsewhere.
Well what happens with this is all kinds of interesting. His Doctor and those who have been using Jadas all these years without his knowledge have really done a bang up job. I mean what they’ve done stands up against a police investigation and makes Jadas seem well even more crazy than he sounds so that the truth will never be believed. They’ve got him by the short hairs here and I think he’s beginning to understand that. Though that he broke into his own property was a nice kicker and reaffirms his own beliefs.
Jadas mother picks him up from the station, I guess they had to call someone so why not her. Partial truth comes to light through them talking and it’s nice to see that. What happens next though really took me by surprise if his mother was willing to tell him that she raised him, loved him and was his mother in every possible way without his true birth origin then she should be protecting him.
Suddenly I’m super excited for what’s happening here. Not necessarily a slow start it’s very detailed and very interesting but now that things are now taking a new turn that has adventure, intrigue and mystery written all over it. It’s like a new thriller has been born and it’s science based so hopefully we’ll see and learn more about the science here as the story unfolds instead of it being just the basis of the story.
I like the interior artwork here. There are some great standout moments like seeing the city and the water as Jadas leaves with his mother. This is very much comic book art so no too realistic treatment going on with the people. The department Psychologist is more generic than I was hoping for but hey that’s okay and I was kind of hoping she’d be more willing to listen to him and help in the future but… Then there’s his mother all those lines to “age” her i’m not sure are completely necessary instead it looks like she’s scarred not and aged. These are just what I noticed nothing that takes any enjoyment from reading this.
It’s a good story and things are definitely heating up and i’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.
